LG Blurs the Line between PC and TV

LG Digital Media launches Intel Viiv technology based "AV Center DV70 Series"

LG Digital Media launches Intel Viiv technology based "AV Center DV70 Series"

LG Electronics (LG), a pioneer in consumer electronics and telecommunications, launched the "AV center DV70 Series," a new-concept PC developed for home entertainment.

The "AV center DV70 Series" is equipped with Viiv technology, a new platform designed by Intel for digital entertainment. With the PC, a viewer can enjoy movies, photos and music, which has been originally stored in the computer, on TV or a home theatre system by remote control. With the wireless keyboard equipped with a mouse function, users are also able to chat or shop online without even leaving the living room.
The most exciting feature is the "time-machine function" which automatically stores TV programs and enables users to stop a live broadcast and return later without missing anything.
Equipped with the enhanced audio/video function featuring a super-multi DVD drive and a 150W digital amplifier, the "AV center DV70 Series" enables users to store and play DVD titles of various standards or enjoy vibrant 5.1-channel surround sound. Without the need for a separate home theatre system, consumers no longer need to worry about a multitude of remote control devices. To maximize the multimedia function, the PC is equipped with an Intel Dual Core processor( the Intel's dual core processor), the Intel 945 chipset, DDR2 memory, a 300-gigabite hard disk( 300GB HDD), 1-gigabite (1GB) high-speed LAN and the MS Windows XP Media Center Edition.

Mr. Sibeom Park, Vice President of LG Electronics Digital Media Company, said that LG will continuously take the lead in digital home entertainment market through aggressive marketing and product diversification. "LG is blessed with an ideal environment that integrate such state-of-the-art PCs and digital TVs with the most advanced consumer electronics technology under one roof," he said.

By offering the Viiv-based "AV center DV70 Series" soon after launching the "AV Center DV30/50" last November, LG is accelerating its efforts to expand the PC-centered digital home entertainment market.
