LAS VEGAS, May 8, 2007 - Further expanding the industry's most extensive line-up of French-door refrigerators, LG Electronics is introducing an innovative vertical ice and water dispenser model that provides increased functionality and the beauty of stainless steel. This premium bottom-freezer model will be showcased as a highlight of LG's broad lineup of refrigerator-freezers at the 2007 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Las Vegas, May 8-10 (Booth C3713).
The enhanced line of LG PanoramaTM French-door refrigerators delivers enhanced functionality and convenience to consumers. All told, the company unveiled 10 French-door models for 2007 - in various sizes and price points, bringing luxury to the mainstream and meeting a wider range of consumer needs.
"French-door is the fastest growing refrigerator segment," said John Herrington, president of LG Electronics USA, Inc., Digital Appliances. "Our 2007 Panorama French-door models underscore our commitment to delivering technologically-advanced features coupled with a stylish design to provide consumers with a premium product."
UNIQUE VERTICAL ICE AND WATER DISPENSER
Another industry-first in the French-door category is LG's introduction of a Panorama refrigerator model with a unique, stylish vertical ice and water dispenser, one of the industry's tallest. The dispenser measures 11-plus inches high to accommodate extra-tall bottles, large pitchers and coffee pots. This model is part of LG's next-generation kitchen series and is available with 25 cubic-foot capacity in a standard depth or 21 cubic-foot capacity in a counter depth for a built-in look.
The model also has a unique auto-closing door feature. The doors close automatically, assisted by hydraulic hinges, once the door is at a 45-degree angle. The auto-closing doors provide peace of mind, since consumers never have to worry about the doors not sealing completely.
LG was the first company to unveil new technology in French-door refrigerators that placed the icemaker within the refrigerator door - compared to most three-door models that place the icemaker in the freezer compartment located at the bottom of the unit. This configuration also allows consumers to take advantage of increased refrigeration space and the convenient storage capabilities of a bottom-mount freezer, in addition to the filtered ice and water access that side-by-side refrigerator owners have long enjoyed.
LG continues to deliver the broadest array of French-door refrigerator offerings in the U.S. market including multiple sizes at a variety of options, allowing more consumers to enjoy the benefits of three door refrigerators. New additions in 2007 will include an exclusive 20 cubic-foot model with a narrow width of 30 inches.
OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCE AND DESIGN FEATURES
With the symmetrical contoured doors, hidden hinges and curved handles, the LG Panorama French-door refrigerators are a welcome, stylish addition to any type of kitchen. The Panorama refrigerator with the vertical ice and water dispenser features a new white LCD display, while the other units in the line incorporate LED displays.
The LG refrigerators include slide-out split shelves, the BioShield" anti-bacterial gasket, two-piece utility bin, wine rack and adjustable gallon size shelves in right door. In addition, an OptiBin" Crisper controls the moisture levels for fruits and vegetables to help keep produce fresh, longer. The door of the drawer-style freezer also tilts for easier access, giving way to a fuller and wider upper freezer basket.
Panorama French-door refrigerators feature LG's exclusive multi-air flow cooling mechanism in which all refrigerator shelves are outfitted with venting ducts for optimal cavity cooling and food freshness - and an IcePlusTM system that helps make ice faster. In addition, digital temperature controls are positioned on the outside of the unit, which are easy to reach and adjust, and can be locked to prevent unwanted changes.
" LG Panorama refrigerator with vertical dispenser will be available in the second quarter of 2007 in a stainless steel finish at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $3,399 for standard depth model LFX25980 and $3,699 for counter depth model LFX21980.
" The LG Panorama with external ice and water dispenser (Model: LFX25960) is available now in a variety of finishes including smooth white, smooth black, titanium and stainless steel, with manufacturer's suggested retail prices ranging from $2,399 to $2,799.
