2005 Handset Lineup Reflects LG's Great Strides Forward in Advanced Feature Development and Aggressive Marketing Initiatives

NEW ORLEANS, March 14, 2005 - LG Electronics MobileComm, a leading worldwide provider of the most advanced wireless handsets and accessories, will have a strong presence at the CTIA Wireless 2005 show at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, March 14-16. Attendees will have the opportunity to preview LGs 2005 handset roadmap, packed with handsets that integrate the latest wireless technologies with style and function.

LG Electronics MobileComm continues its rapid growth in 2004, once again winning the largest share of the U.S. CDMA mobile handset market, selling nearly 16 million units in 2004 to garner 27 percent of sales in the U.S. In addition, LG ranked third overall in terms of mobile handset sales in the U.S. in Q4 of 2004, and secured the number four spot for all U.S. mobile phone shipments, according to a recently released mobile phone market share study from leading information technology market research and advisory firm IDC*,.

In addition to its strong leadership in the CDMA market, LG has delivered on its commitment to rapid expansion in the GSM space, shipping over 1.6 million GSM handsets in the U.S. during the fourth quarter of 2004. The company's strong growth in the GSM market has LG poised to continue its major expansion into the U.S. GSM space into 2005.

"Our 2005 handset roadmap encompasses more than 40 handsets, and consumers and media at the show will be getting a glimpse of the future of LG's CDMA and GSM initiatives, including upcoming handsets with 3G features like EVDO, Bluetooth and integrated megapixel camera capabilities, along with exciting new form factors and cutting-edge designs."

LG's presence in New Orleans kicks off with the official CTIA Press Reception at the Morial Convention Center on Sunday, March 13 at 6:30 p.m. LG will also be participating in Mobile Focus, the press-only event to showcase the latest wireless technologies and services, on Monday, March 14 at 6:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel at Poydras Plaza. During the show, fashionistas and wannabees alike can check out the sleek styles and hot new looks of LG's latest handsets in the "Fashion in Motion" wireless fashion show, which will be held several times each day on the MEX Stage. Three of LG's latest handsets will be prowling the runway along with the latest and greatest in communication technology.

During exhibit hours, attendees can get a closer look at all of the latest products from LG at the LG Booth, #1645 in Hall B2.

Featured LG Handsets at CTIA Include:

LG8100: Integrating the high-speed data capabilities of EVDO technology with a CCD 1.3 Mega Pixel Camera, the LG8100 takes the next steps into the expanding world of 3G with video and music on demand, integrated Bluetooth capability and a Mini-SD slot for external memory.

LG7200: The LG7200 handset features the convenience of Push-to-Talk capability, offering consumers this practical feature in one of LG's sleek new sliding form factor handsets. Color screen, speakerphone and enhanced messaging services rounds out a comprehensive package of the advanced, yet practical features.

LG5200: The new LG5200 showcases style and function in LG's sleek trademark clamshell form factor and features an integrated VGA camera, speaker-independent voice recognition and LG's hands-free "drive mode" for maximum safety while using the phone in the car.

MM535: The MM-535 features a sleek, sliding form factor, 1.3 megapixel camera with flash, video capability and streaming media. In addition, the MM-535 offers a full color LCD screen, speakerphone and external storage for downloaded media as well as photo and video clips.

LG225: Integrated camera and a full list of advanced features make the LG-225 the latest "Must-Have" phone from LG.
