Diverse Line of Residential and Commercial HVAC Products
Highlight Sleek Design and High SEER Ratings at Comfortech 2009
NASHVILLE, Sept. 24, 2009 – Over the last year LG Electronics has quickly responded to the applicable tax credit benefits included in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 by updating its product line to offer residential and business installers more energy-efficient products than ever before. Nowhere is this more apparent than this week at Comfortech 2009, where the LG Electronics USA Commercial Air Conditioning division is introducing higher SEER ratings on its Duct-Free Multi-Split models (booth #1114).
Customers such as architects, building engineers and consumers will appreciate LG’s ongoing enhancements to its broad range of cost and energy-efficient climate control solutions that offer advanced functionality, stylish design and quiet operation, according to Kelly Cutchins, vice president, Commercial Air Conditioning, LG Electronics USA Inc.
“With the introduction of the Duct-Free Flex-Multi model earlier this year, LG is leading the industry in providing advanced zoning and climate control solutions,” said Cutchins. “With the consumer in mind, LG is focused on improving our existing product line with tax-rebate qualifying models to help reduce energy costs in the home and provide more efficient heating and cooling options that don’t detract from the décor of the home.”
Efficiency and Zoning Controls
LG’s Duct-Free Flex Multi-Split Quad-Zone Air Conditioning system extends the company’s broad portfolio of applied commercial air conditioning products into the U.S. market and features industry-leading energy efficiency and design flexibility. On display at Comfortech 2009, this model now qualifies for residential tax credit benefits in the 9,000, 12,000, and 18,000 and 24,000 BTU product categories with SEER ratings of 21 (both 9k and 12k BTU), 19 and 18 respectively.
The Duct-Free Flex Multi-Split system can operate up to four interior units mounted in separate rooms for easy temperature control in each setting, while connected to just one single exterior condensing unit. Also new to this model is the addition of indoor, wall mounted thermostat controls for a variety of climate adjustment options.
Cutchins explained that architects and engineers focusing on green buildings will appreciate the built-in Inverter technology on this model for enhanced energy efficiency, while homeowners as well as those in commercial industries, will enjoy the variety of stylish interior styles to choose from.
For example, consumers will enjoy the popular Art Cool Inverter Mirror design-oriented series available in eye-catching designs such as a mirror finish for a non-traditional climate control solution. Furthering its commitment to providing energy-efficient technologies in its products, LG utilizes an advanced Inverter compressor technology and R-410A refrigerant for an additional LEED applicable solution. The benefit of the Inverter technology is a quieter operation, coupled with a reduction in overall energy usage, as compared to conventional air conditioners which must cycle on and off to maintain ideal temperatures.
LG has also incorporated the advanced Inverter technology with its line of Multi-V systems which use a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) heat recovery system to operate cooling and heating simultaneously with one outdoor unit for easy temperature zoning. Built around LG’s inverter compressors, the Multi-V series delivers one of the highest energy efficient ratings (EER) available in the VRF equipment category, along with low sound operation.
Using VRF technology, the Multi-V system provides commercial businesses greater temperature control therefore avoiding unnecessary energy usage in unoccupied rooms. Industry-leading pipe lengths on the Multi-V that connect in-room systems with outdoor fans use serially arranged refrigerant pipes to connect to a single outdoor unit with the option to also connect to others. This efficient system offers outstanding energy savings with a wide variety of indoor and outdoor units.
Products for Every Climate Control Need
LG’s advanced energy-saving technologies are also incorporated throughout its 2009 line of commercial air conditioning products, providing innovative comfort solutions that meet the needs of a variety of residential and commercial light applications. For example, the company’s line of 9,000-15,000 BTU PTACs not only provides low decibels and an outstanding sound prevention-rating, but also EER from 10.8 – 12.5. LG will also be introducing PTAC models with the more environmentally conscious R-410A refrigerant later this year. This refrigerant will be beneficial for LEED driven construction projects, exemplifying LG’s progress in this space and an area in which the company continues to invest.
LG’s advanced Inverter technology on the Duct-Free Flex Multi is incorporated in LG’s 2009 CAC Floor Standing and Ceiling Cassette systems, as well as the design and eco-friendly Art Cool Inverter Mirror. The Art Cool Inverter Mirror line (model LAN125HV) features a slim rectangular wall-mounted interior evaporator with a one-way air flow system. Available in a variety of custom finishes, the Inverter line can be fit to enhance any room’s décor. LG’s ART Cool Picture (model LAN121HNP) combines artful air conditioning and climate control for an all-in-one solution that is stylish and functional. It also provides a three dimensional air flow system with the look and feel of a stylish photo frame.
For those commercial or residential environments looking to increase comfort but have a tighter budget, LG offers its High Wall Duct-Free Mini Split Standard Single Zone products. These units offer many of the same features as LG’s Art Cool Mirror products such as R-410A, LG’s plasma air purification system, and Gold Fin Anti-corrosion coil protection at a cost-effective price. The indoor unit also operates using only 36V DC power, which helps the qualified air conditioning contractor reduce overall installation costs as well.
