Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well designed, great value, but discontinued. We bought this air conditioner for our Las Vegas attached sun room, which is a 400 sq. ft. rectangle with glass enclosed walls on the two longest sides. The home improvement retailer we bought it from used an online table to recommend an 8,000 BTU unit. We discussed this with two different handymen we trust, and both of them recommend we upsize to 12,000 BTU. We researched window units that size, as recommended by a well known consumer testing agency, and settled on this model. On a hot summer day, (above 105 deg. F) the unit barely keeps up. We have to start the conditioner early so the room is habitable. Anything above 110 F., and we can't use the room. The unit works flawlessly otherwise, and has four convenient features we like: our handyman said installation was easy; the remote promotes easy operation; it plugs into an existing 110v. outlet; the unit automatically restarts (when power is restored) if shut down by a power outage. The testing agency said the airflow tended to point left, which favorably influenced our purchase decision. Unfortunately, it pointed right, and we are disappointed. We bought it on sale at Home Depot, and although now discontinued, there may still be a few units available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product gets the job done I am extremely satisfied with the purchase of this unit. It does a great job of cooing the designated area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very satisfied I purchased this to replace my expensive, old ,central air system. What a surprise, this cools as well and costs about half as much to operate. Even with adding another smaller unit to my bedroom, my electric bill is much less. Runs quiet and I especially like the energy saver feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a fine product We haven't used a window unit in many years. However, when our central A/C bit the dust we just didn't have the money to buy a replacement. This has done a great job cooling a little over 500 square feet in the hot Florida summer. We will be installing smaller units in the bedrooms and only cooling the rooms we occupy. Much more efficient that way. This was installed in a very wide window, but I just made my own fillers and it worked out fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product met all of our expectations and more. My wife and I have been enjoying this air conditioner and still have it installed in our window. We use the fan mode often. We also love that it alerts you to clean the filter, which is a very simple thing to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for the price My small window air unit gave out. So I bought this Lg. I am glad I did. Love the temp feature the fan speeds and the timer. This unit also tells you when you need to clean the filter. I would buy it again.

Is there an electrical schematic available? The compressor runs continuously because the compressor relay contacts are stuck close (compressor never shuts off). Is the electronic board available? Is the relay available?

I was unaware using an ac unit that is rated for a room larger then what I am using it for would not cool the room is there any way to fix the problem without buying a different unit

Asked by: Deryl
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. The only option available, if this product is overpowered for the room, would be to open the door and allow the cooling power of the machine to operate for more than just this individual room.

It gets so cold even when you have it up to 80 than it freezes up

Asked by: Leecrew
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this window air conditioner. This device has been manufactured for use in a room of about 550 sq ft. If the room is too small, the compressor will get caught in a short cycle loop and not allow sufficient cooling. If the room is too large, then the unit will run continuously, without the power sufficient to cool the whole room. If this is not the case, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.
