Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first one lasted 10 years and still worked!! My first LG 8,000btu unit was in for 10 years and still works. I bought a new one for our bedroom and the old one now keeps my shed cool and dry

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good cooling, small size, and light Easy install This window unit weighs less than 50 lbs., which is important for someone my age. it was very easy to install, and started cooling really fast. It greatly improves the overall temperature of not only the room it is in, but nearby rooms as well. The digital controls, and remote work well, and it allows settings down to 64 degrees, which is good for those of us who like a cool bedroom. On the negative side, the choice of white foam plastic for the wall between inside, and outside components is great for insulation, but lets way too much light through. The unit is so shallow that the compressor, and inside, and outside fans manage to be fairly noisy under load, and at high fan speeds. I also don't like the blinking red power light. To me, a blinking red light signals a problem, so I covered it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LG Service is incredibly good. I have one of these a/c's. It started acting odd so I emailed LG service. Next day, I got a call from a tech. We discussed the problem, arrived at a diagnosis. He then had a replacement part shipped in next day air and arrived that day and installed it. I didn't think this level of service existed in this day and age. LG- you've got a customer for life.

Blinking red power light.  Unplugged unit, waited 3min and plugged back in.  Is the blinking red power light a concern?

Asked by: AJHS
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. Where is the location of this particular blinking light? If it is on the display/control panel, is there a notation next to it? It is recommended to check the air filter and clean it if necessary. If that does not resolve the matter, then please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

Where can I find an installation guide for this product?  What is the maximum window width it can handle?

Asked by: Hot Guy
This room air conditioner is designed for installation in standard, double-hung windows with actual opening widths from 22” to 36”. The upper and lower sash must open sufficiently to allow a clear vertical opening of 13” from the bottom of the upper sash to the window stool. This information can be found on page 12 of the owner’s manual. A copy of this manual can be downloaded from our website at http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-LW8012ERJ.

the unit will not stay on. When plugged in all of the lights flash then go out.

If I hold the power button down and plug it in I get an "E" readout and the unit goes blank. It will not turn on.

WHY DOESN'T WATER DRIP FROM UNIT EVEN ON DEHUM

UNIT MODEL LW8012ERJ
Asked by: STILLHUMID
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. If the air conditioner is cooling properly, then the lack of water dripping from the unit is not important. It is possible that what water may be present is simply evaporating, or it could be scooped by the “slinger fan” and used to cool the coils for more efficient operation.

Power light flashing

Asked by: kniblick
This is normal operation for this air conditioner. On some of the newer LG air conditioners, the power indicator will begin to flash when it is time for the filter to be cleaned. You can reset the indicator by unplugging the unit for approximately 3 minutes and then restoring power to the unit.
