Great 1.5 years, then diminished performance
This worked quite well for the first year and a half, but despite changing and cleaning the filter every time the light turns on dust and grime build up on the coils WAY too easily. It is near impossible to clean the coils.
In trying to get it serviced I have not received help outside of the warranty period. The sole technician on the website does not service up near me per their website.
Very disappointing to purchase an appliance and have its performative capabilities limited to 1.5 years.

Broke in 5 months, No help with warranty
Bought this AC in March of 2022. Worked fine for a few months, by August it had stopped putting out cold air altogether ... sounded like compressor was on, but nothing blowing out. Submitted repair request via LG site, since it has a one-year warranty, and never heard anything except for getting text messages asking if I still needed help or they would close the ticket. Always responded "Y", but of course they closed it out. Went through 3 or 4 repair request tickets with no response. Garbage

Hate This Unit!!!
Waste of money!!! We bought this unit brand new dirctly from LG website and it keeps turning off constantly! As far as I can tell, there's no "Energy Saver" mode, so it's not that. The unit just turns off every few minutes for no reason!!! We always want it ON because I stop breathing in my sleep at night and the temperatures here are super hot, making it hard to breathe. We soley bought this unit for constant COOL air. We leave it on 60° because it's not even cold at 60°! It's like luke cold. We also bought this unit because we have an older model LG ac unit that stays ON COLD continuously with no problems, but it had recently started leaking water all over the carpet which has ruined our carpet because of how drenched it got. Aired it out but still mold grew under the carpet. But at least it was COLD and STAYED ON CONTINOUSLY. We thought upgrading our old unit for a new one it would be better & have no problems, but we were definitely wrong! Waste of money! So mad, we can't even return it because the time window is closed, so now we have this unit that works for about 10-20 minutes and shuts off for the remaining time unless we physically press the down arrow key on the remote OR it randomly decides after over an hour to kick on by itself. (Also, yes we have the hose to the window set up correctly.) I also have yo mention the design flaw, this unit is placed in our bedroom and the vents are facing upward so it basically blows the ceiling instead of making the vents on the side where you can actually feel cold air hit your face! Our old unit had the vents on the side and was perfect! This new one is utterly useless!

One side of the opening (under the bi-fold opening doors and under the metal grate) has styrofoam across it. Is this normal or how do I remove it? It leaves only 1/2 of the opening to blow the cool air.

How many KWh would be used if this product ran for 24 hours per day?
Regrettably, the LG 10,000 BTU Smart Wi-Fi Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1021BSSM does not have an Energy Guide label that shows what the Estimated Yearly Electrical Use is for this model. The Federal Trade Commission only recently approved a Federal Register notice (FRN) announcing final amendments to the agency’s Energy Labeling Rule (Rule). The final amendments establish EnergyGuide labels for portable air conditioners (AC) and they require manufacturers to label portable AC units produced after October 1, 2022.
In an FRN announced in March 2020, the FTC proposed establishing EnergyGuide labels for portable AC units. The Commission already sought public comments in past proceedings on portable AC labels, which are similar to those already required for room ACs. In the FRN, the FTC proposed requiring these EnergyGuide labels starting on January 10, 2025, to coincide with new Department of Energy (DOE) efficiency standards applicable to these products. However, after reviewing public comments, the Commission has set the final compliance date as October 1, 2022, to make these labels available to consumers sooner...^Ivan

Regrettably, you would need to open the LG 10,000 BTU Smart Wi-Fi Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1021BSSM up to clean inside the unit and to that, you would need a service manual. Unfortunately, service manuals are only available to LG Authorized Service Technicians or to LG Authorized Service Centers so you will need to take the unit in to have it cleaned inside. What is the lowest temperature you can set it at? Also can you set it so when it's on cooling and it reaches the desired temperature the fan stays on?
In Cool, Dry and Heat mode, the ∧/∨ buttons for the LG 10,000 BTU Smart Wi-Fi Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1012BSSM adjust the set temperature up to 86 °F (30 °C) or down to 60 °F (16 °C), in one-degree increments. In COOL mode, the compressor runs and cools the room. You can use the ∧/∨ and Fan Speed buttons to set the desired temperature and fan speed.
