Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dont last My 2nd one and like before, they all go bad after one year. I like LG, but I think they have drop the quality. I use only Blue ray, well this one when bad and only reads CD and DVDs but can work with any Blue Ray, make look for another brand.

I’ve tried burning a disc using this device (onto a Philips DVD+RW x4 speed 4.7gb disc) and despite the disc being formatted it doesn’t recognise it? Are these discs compatible for recording on to or are there are other blanks I should be using please?

Does LG offer a sata blu ray reader/burner that is supported in MS Windows 10?

Asked by: sanman9
yes this is it. Windows is backwards compatible so hardware and software that the system doesn't rely on works fine.

I am having truoble with windows 10 recognising this drive, it accepts that it is a cd/dvd but will not accept that it is a blu ray player, cyberlink software recognises it but when you come to burn a disk it states that there is no disk in the drive.

Asked by: locost24

Is LG BH16NS40 compatible with windows 10? I have some issues with this unit - Windows is not able to recognize the Blue Ray burner (it doesn't appear in the task manager).

Asked by: laurier
yes this works with windows 10 and works very well .make sure you install the software from the cd supplied .remember all versions of windows just see the dvd as a dvd writer even if its blue-ray writer , i have just bought this writer and its superb it even burned my 4x (25gb) disks at 8 speed and it was so quite and quick....there is a clue to this working well when the documentation says it might not work with other blue ray burning software ,but i have 4 other burning software products installed on my pc and i have burned disks ok with all (all free software i might add)
