The Flow Sense™ indicator for the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 7.3 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity Electric Dryer with Sensor Dry Technology, Model # DLE7000W is an innovative sensing system that automatically detects blockages and restrictions in dryer ductwork. It does not stop the function of the dryer, but to activate it for an installation test, the dryer should be cool before starting the test. If the dryer was warmed up during installation, run the AIR DRY cycle for a few minutes to reduce the interior temperature. Do not load anything in the drum for the test as it may affect the accuracy of the results. Then you would have to press and hold the POWER, Temp., and Wrinkle Care buttons until 'In' and a usage count alternate in the display. (The usage count indicates the number of cycles run with no load during the last 5 cycles.) Press the Start/Pause button. The dryer will start the test, which will last about 2 minutes. The heat will be turned on and the temperatures in the drum will be measured and displayed. A chime sounds when the test portion of the cycle is complete. During the test cycle, monitor the Flow Sense™ display on the control panel. If the Flow Sense™ LED is not turned on, when the cycle ends, the exhaust system is adequate. If the exhaust system is severely restricted, the Flow Sense™ LED will be turned on. Other problems may also be shown with error codes which you will find in the installation section on page 25 of your owner's manual for the dryer. At the end of the test cycle, 0 will display. The test cycle will end and the dryer will shut off automatically after a short delay. As advised on page 16 of your owner's manual for the dryer, the total length of flexible metal duct must not exceed 8 ft. (2.4 m). If you are using a 4" (10.2cm) wall cap for long runs, the maximum length of 4-inch (10.2 cm) diameter rigid metal duct is 65 ft if you do not use any 90° elbows, 55 ft if you use one 90° elbow, 47 ft if you use 2 x 90° elbows, 36 ft if you use 3 x 90° elbows and 28 ft if you use 4 x 90°. You need to be aware that regardless of brand or manufacturer, ALL electric dryers have to be connected to 240V, unlike Gas Dryers which have to be connected to a standard 120V household circuit. You do not have to pay for the whole house's electrical circuitry to get redone. If the plug does not fit the outlet, you will need to have the correct outlet installed by a qualified technician.
