What people are saying

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I was expecting MORE... I really did my homework when I studied other manufacturers, sizes and versions of curved monitors before purchasing this one. I selected this one because for its size has better resolution than others. However images blur, setting it up to look with decent life in colors was challenging, 2 computers at a time... very hand unless you have C input and HDMI cables, both HDMIs don't work at the same time. You can only split in half, no other options. For the size this should have a better resolution and controllers should be easier to set up. I don't dare to touch anything because I already messed it up once and was a nighmare to get it to work or look right again. I recomend only if you are a simple person not wanting anything "fantastic". Just a large screen to see bigger things. Not much for clarigy on Text. Keep in ming I have NOT tested this on any games. Just Photoshop and watching movies which lack a lot of color, very sad and low tones. Have fixed tones the best I could.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent width, limited height Bought this to replace an older LG monitor which finally died. Do like the curved form, as all parts of the screen equidistant. Have discovered that the lesser height (compared to my prior monitor) requires making landscape pages smaller or viewing only a portion at a time. In retrospect, might have been better to purchase a monitor with more height and less width

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for video editing I love the real state on this monitor while using Premier Pro, I used to have to monitors and I was a bit hesitant to make the switch, but after trying for over a month I'm not going back. I have not tested the dual computer mode but the split screen mode is not working out that great for me. The price is high but this is my work tool so I look it at as an investment.

The LG 38'' Class 21:9 UltraWide® WQHD+ IPS Curved LED Monitor (37.5'' Diagonal), Model # 38UC99-W is a Plug 'N' Play monitor and it has a DisplayPort (version 1.2) and 2 x HDMI ports (Version 2.0) for connectivity. Why, for years, does the onscreen control keep crashing in windows 10? It randomly ALWAYS crashes and I have to either restart my PC. I'm using the latest software. I'm a tech so I've tried several things from reinstalling to cussing at the monitor.

Is there way to switch input port from the on screen control program? The joy stick is a pain when needing to go back and forth between 2 computers often.

Asked by: Michael J 1952
Regrettably, OnScreen Control features Screen Split, Monitor Setting, My Application Preset and Game Mode Setting, doesn't have an Input Select that you can use to toggle between two external sources. The monitor supports Picture by Picture (PBP) where you can split the screen in half and designate one screen as the Main Screen and the other as the Sub screen and although you can toggle between Main and Sub screens using the Main/Sub Screen Change you still need to use the joystick to access that. The Monitor also has an Auto Input Switch which when set to On, will automatically switch the display to a new input when connected. ^AC

does this monitor support Thunderbolt 3.0?  There is no reference made to that anywhere on the specs.  Yet I've connected it with the enclosed cable to my 2017 MBP and it seems work.  But I'm unclear whether it's using Thunderbolt or just USB-C. thanks

Asked by: LGSFan
Hi LGSFan. The LG 38" Class 21:9 UltraWide® WQHD+ IPS Curved LED Monitor (37.5" Diagonal), Model # 38UC99-W does not have a Thunderbolt™ 3 port. To determine if the port is a Thunderbolt 3 port, look for the Thunderbolt™ 3 symbol that is used to identify such ports as being Thunderbolt™ 3 compatible. Thunderbolt™ 3 uses the USB-C connector, but not all host connections, cables, and devices with a USB-C connector support Thunderbolt™ 3. This means that a USB-C device is compatible with a Thunderbolt™ 3 host connection, but a Thunderbolt ™ 3 device is not compatible with a USB-C host connection...^IFV

Hello, I cant get this display to work properly with a macbook pro (15 inch, 2017), i.e, the resolution is poor and the colors and sharpness are awful. I've tried USBc to Display port, to hdmi... I'm getting fed up and disappointed. Will return probably.
