Beyond the Screen: How the Wallpaper TV Harmonizes With Film, Design and Life at Home

Beyond the Screen: How the Wallpaper TV Harmonizes With Film, Design and Life at Home

A filmmaker who tells stories through light and shadow. An interior design magazine that explores how every detail shapes a room. A home-tour platform that reveals how families live in their spaces. Three very different perspectives, each finding something of its own in the Wallpaper TV from LG Electronics (LG).

They come together through local creative collaborations that are part of LG’s global “Beyond the Screen” campaign. In Germany, acclaimed actor and director Matthias Schweighöfer explores the Wallpaper TV through a cinematic lens. In the UK, a partnership with Livingetc1 introduces it to interior design enthusiasts. And in Australia, a Hunting for George2 home tour brings it into a serene family home in the picturesque Yarra Valley.

At the center of each collaboration is the Wallpaper TV (LG OLED evo AI W6), an ultra-slim OLED TV that can sit flush against the wall. Its True Wireless connectivity sends picture and sound from the Zero Connect Box to the screen. It pairs that design with exceptional picture quality enabled by Hyper Radiant Color Technology, all built around a simple belief: technology should adapt to the home, not the other way around. As each collaboration shows, the TV is no longer just a screen – it’s an integral part of how people live, design and experience their homes.

Germany: A Filmmaker’s View of the Wallpaper TV

“When the colors, contrast, shadows and details work together, the technology becomes invisible,” says Matthias Schweighöfer. “At that point, the audience is no longer thinking about the screen – they are simply inside the story.”

Known internationally for his role in Oppenheimer and for directing and starring in Army of Thieves, Schweighöfer works on both sides of the camera and pays close attention to how every image conveys emotion. He brings that perspective to his second collaboration with LG, a film featuring the Wallpaper TV released in Germany on October 23. “What matters most is that the emotional intention of every scene remains intact,” he says.

The Wallpaper TV is built to let that happen. Its ultra-slim wallpaper-like design sits virtually flush against the wall. The Zero Connect Box transmits picture and sound wirelessly, so no cables are visible between the image and the room. To Schweighöfer, the result “feels much more like part of the architecture than a traditional television.”

Once the screen comes to life, Hyper Radiant Color Technology works with LG’s self-lit OLED technology to deliver Perfect Black and accurate color, preserving the light, contrast and shadow a director builds into every scene.

The UK: How Designers and Creators See the Wallpaper TV

In its September issue, Livingetc explored what the Wallpaper TV means for room design. True Wireless connectivity allows external devices such as consoles and set-top boxes to sit away from the screen, while LG Gallery+ brings art and photography into the room when the TV is not being watched.

Interior designer Sophie Paterson offered a personal take at Livingetc Unlocked 2026. For over 14 years, she kept her formal living room screen-free because she worried a large TV would detract from its carefully considered details. The Wallpaper TV, she said, “has changed my mind.” She described how it “sits completely flush against the wall, almost like part of the architecture itself.” Its True Wireless connectivity also leaves “no messy cables to compromise the clean lines of the space.” For Paterson, these features made family viewing possible in a room once kept free of screens: “Being able to enjoy family movie nights in here without compromising the design feels like the best of both worlds.”

Creators brought their own angles. Lifestyle creator Marvin Brooks made the Wallpaper TV the centerpiece of a living-room upgrade. His video explains how the Zero Connect Box keeps the setup “sleek and clutter-free,” and it has drawn around 10 million views and 130,000 engagements on Instagram. Sarah-Louise and Christopher Phelps emphasized that technology should “sit quietly within a space.” Rowan Row summed up his surprise and admiration with a simple question: “Is that actually a TV?”

London’s design community also saw this philosophy firsthand at Livingetc Unlocked 2026, an exclusive two-day series of London house tours. In one featured home, the Wallpaper TV hung effortlessly above a period fireplace, displaying curated artwork that complemented the space rather than dominating it. Visiting creators and designers shared the experience with their followers ahead of Livingetc’s dedicated article in its upcoming December issue.

Australia: Discovering the Wallpaper TV on a Home Tour

At Hoddles Creek House in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, warm timber interiors and sweeping vineyard views set the stage for a distinctive introduction to the LG Wallpaper TV. Designed by Mitsuori Architects for a family of four, the home is featured in Hunting for George’s Let Us In series, which takes audiences through its architecture and living spaces.

The tour shows how the Wallpaper TV belongs in a home like this. In the main living area, the ultra-slim screen floats in front of the view. True Wireless connectivity through the Zero Connect Box keeps cables out of sight, which suits an interior where every material and furnishing has been carefully considered. When it is not in use, LG Gallery+ displays artworks, landscapes and ambient visuals, allowing the screen to contribute to the room’s atmosphere.

Lucy Glade-Wright of Hunting for George puts it simply: “I love the flexibility of being able to change the artwork and atmosphere of a room without changing any of the furniture around it.”

Alongside the online article, the collaboration includes a YouTube home tour, an Instagram reel and a photo series, letting audiences explore how the Wallpaper TV fits into the home’s design and daily life.

Where Art, Space and Living Converge

Each partner approaches the Wallpaper TV from its own discipline. The filmmaker considers how images carry emotion. The interior design magazine asks how an object belongs within a room. The home-tour platform shows how those ideas come together in a lived-in space.

Together, these collaborations show how naturally the LG Wallpaper TV connects with filmmaking, interior design and life at home. They are proof that technology can adapt to the home rather than the other way around. With Livingetc’s feature arriving in its December issue, there is still more inspiration to come from the Wallpaper TV.
