The digital age broadened video format availability notably with the development of video content compression.
As such, many video codecs and formats are at the source of the many video streaming and transportable media containers.
Some formats, more popular than others, are generally viewable on just about any home entertainment display device.
There are, regrettably, some questionable video formats that are not supported.
Should you experience such occurrence, will appear on screen a pop-up message notification to that effect. It will generally read: “Unsupported file format”.
Cause and Symptoms
- You may come across an on-screen pop-up message notification stipulating the content you wish to view is either unsupported or invalid.
