Teach your family how to vacuum the right way

When cleaning day rolls around, you can get the whole family to help around the house and show them exactly how to vacuum each surface! They can start with these quick cleaning tips for a spotless home.

Tips for Vacuuming with an LG CordZero
  • Give the room a quick dusting before you vacuum hardwood floors, tiles or carpet in your home. This will help loose dust fall to the floor, so you can trap every tiny particle. Then, use the Power Punch Nozzle on carpeting or area rugs. If you are wondering if you can use a vacuum on tile, you’re in luck. The Power Nozzle on the vacuum can remove particles from hardwood or tile floors.
  • Move lighter pieces of furniture out of the way so you don’t accidentally bump into table legs, chair legs, or side tables. This will also help you to easily clean under and around the furniture with the Crevice and Flexible Crevice Tools, as well as the Flexible Hose Extension.
  • While you’re moving furniture, you can give your sofas, lounge chairs, and beds a quick cleaning with the Mattress Tool.
  • If you notice small objects on the floor while vacuuming, such as toys, fallen houseplant leaves, or bits of cat litter, pick them up before running the vacuum over them. If the objects are small enough, like dirt or pet hair, you can use the Hard Dirt Tool to vacuum them up.
  • Use a gentle tool around baseboards to avoid scratching them, especially if they have decorative trim. The 2-in-1 Combination Tool is ideal, since it can be adjusted for delicate surfaces. The Power Floor Nozzle can also be used for this task, as it has a felt bumper.
  • Don’t forget about objects that are above eye level! Your tall bookshelves, ceiling fans, and light fixtures can be cleaned using the Multi-Angle Tool, which lets you reach high places.
  • Finally, if you are wondering how often you should be vacuuming, make a schedule for vacuuming your home. You can assign each family member a different day of the week or month for vacuuming, depending on how often you’d like to clean. For instance, you may want to vacuum twice a week if you have children or pets. Your CordZero Vacuum makes it easy for everyone in the family to vacuum around furniture and maneuver it around corners and doorways!

These tips for vacuuming can make your cleaning routine easier, and can help get your family involved in the process. Many of these attachment tools are included in the LG Total Care Kit.* This kit is designed to help you maintain a perfectly clean home.

*LG Total Care Kit is sold separately and includes the Flexible Crevice Tool, Multi Angle Tool, Hard Dirt Tool, Mattress Tool, and Extendable Hose.

Reduce spring allergies by vacuuming often

Does vacuuming help with allergies? It’s a fact that cleaning your home weekly or bi-weekly can reduce allergens like pollen and dust. So if you are sensitive to pollen or dust, you may want a vacuum for allergies. The simplest way to stop your sneezing fits and soothe irritated eyes is to vacuum your floors and carpets often with your CordZero, but you can take your cleaning even further by catching sneaky bits of dust and dirt in other places.

Vacuuming for Allergies with Your CordZero
  • If your nose is feeling stuffy when you walk in the door, it’s probably due to the allergens, such as pollen and dust, that you are bringing inside with you. A simple trick to eliminate dust in your house is using a hepa filter vacuum cleaner like the LG CordZero. Consider using the 2-in-1 Combination Tool or Hard Dirt Tool to vacuum the floor, mat, or rug right inside your front door, as well as the door frame to stop pesky bugs in their tracks.
  • Be sure to clean around decorative objects and smaller pieces of furniture, such as side tables or shelves, since they can accumulate dust very quickly. Simply run your finger over the surfaces to check if they’re in need of a good dusting. Try using the Crevice and Flexible Crevice Tools to maneuver around smaller objects.
  • Although an opened window is refreshing in the springtime, you may be inviting in some unwelcome pollen. You can vacuum around and inside window sills to keep them free of pollen and dirt that may get trapped there. The Hard Dirt Tool is ideal for these areas.
  • If you have pets, chances are they leave clumps of fur all over your furniture. To make sure you don’t sneeze every time you lounge on your sofa or bed, just quickly run your vacuum over those surfaces using the Mattress Tool.
  • Linens like your curtains and throw blankets can often retain hidden dust or pet hair. You might be snuggling up with your favorite blanket without realizing how dusty it is! These items can be carefully vacuumed with the 2-in-1 Combination Tool or added to your washing machine for a quick cleaning. Be sure to check the care instruction tags first.

The 5-step hepa filter system of the LG CordZero makes starting to vacuum for allergies a no brainer. If you’re looking to use any of these vacuum attachment tools, you can find them (plus a few others) in the LG Total Care Kit.*

Managing pets and their hair when vacuuming

If you have a pet who sheds, you need a pet hair vacuum that can keep up with the mess. You need a cordless pet vacuum that can remove hair from multiple surfaces and items. The LG CordZero vacuums pet hair off floors and has multiple attachments to get pet hair out of carpet, cushions, and more. What is the best CordZero vacuum attachment to vacuum pet hair? The answer is, there are multiple! It depends on what or where exactly you are cleaning.

  • The Universal Power Nozzle is designed for carpet and hard floors. This attachment to the vacuum can get pet hair out of carpet or off your floors with care and ease. You’ll experience superior suction with LG’s powerful Smart Inverter motor!
  • The Power Punch Nozzle catches small particles, making it a great attachment to remove dog hair from furniture, keep dog hair off your couch or out of your comforter and other linens.
  • If there’s fur on your mattress, then the Mattress Tool can take care of it. It’s designed to clean mattresses and bed frames.
  • Sometimes pet hair does more than just stick to fabric or require removal from furniture. It can also gather in clumps on floors or other areas. Despite its name, the Hard Dirt Tool is also great at picking up loose pet hair.
  • Did those hair clumps make their way into some hard-to-reach corners? The Crevice Tools and Extendable Hose make it easier to reach places the main vacuum cannot access. Those hairballs can’t escape you now!
  • You can also remove the Telescoping Wand to convert your CordZero A9 into a hand vacuum where all tools can be used. Enjoy lightweight maneuverability on furniture, stairs, and even in your car.

Please be aware that some of the mentioned tools are only available through the Total Care Kit.*

*LG Total Care Kit is sold separately and includes the Flexible Crevice Tool, Multi Angle Tool, Hard Dirt Tool, Mattress Tool, and Extendable Hose.

Keep Your Pet Safe
Some pets are scared of noise and some aren’t. To keep them comfortable while you are vacuuming, remember to remove your pet from the area you will be cleaning. This could mean gating them, putting them in another room, or placing them in a pet carrier. Once you’re finished cleaning, turn off the vacuum and let your cat or dog roam free again!
