LG Dryer - Reasons Why Your Dryer Won't Dry

[Narrator]
  • If your dryer continuously shuts off during a cycle or leaves your clothes feeling damp even after a cycle, making drying times longer than normal.

  • It's possible that there may be a blockage or a restriction in your home exhaust system.

  • Blockages and restrictions in the duct work possibly caused by lint buildup and debris can prevent your dryer from running efficiently at maximum performance.

  • In this video, we’ll go over some of the ways that you can diagnosis and possibly remedy some of these issues to avoid calling and waiting for a service technician.

  • Start by making sure that your lint filter is clean and free of any blockages which could also cause a reduction and drying performance.

  • If you don’t see any problems with your lint filter, follow these steps for another possible solution.

  • Begin by starting the dryer on a normal cycle.

  • Go outside where the dryer is vented, and remove any visible restrictions or blockages in the vent.

  • Also check to see if there is air flow.

  • If there is no air flow or if the air flow is weak, then you may have a restriction that needs to be removed.

  • Next, with the dryer unplugged and turned off,Disconnect the vent from your dryer and see if there are any visible restrictions.

  • If there are, remove the restrictions and re-connect.

  • At this point, run your dryer to see if your problem has been eliminated.

  • Not all blockages and restrictions can easily be seen.

  • For instance, if the ductwork is too long or has too many bends, blockages can occur.

  • If this is the case, it is recommended to call a professional for duct cleaning.

  • Proceeding to use a dryer with blockages may create an unsafe environment.

  • Dryers equipped with a Flow sense system (Not available on all models, features may vary by model.) may alert you with potential duct blockages.

  • Continual use of the dyer while the flow sense indicator is illuminated may create an unsafe environment.

  • Please make sure to resolve this issue before continuing to use your dryer.
