What people are saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Burn-in every bit as bad as they say. Beware! I bought this OLED55C7P spring 2018 but I just received an email from LG ask for a review (April 2022), so here it is: (Notes on the images: Red screen images displayed the effects of burn-in best. Dark center image is end of life. Light center rectangle is from the first burn-in problems.) I have historically gone for fringe TV technology like Plasma and DLP so I was open to the possibility of an OLED TV despite the initial murmur of burn-in issues over time. I was initially very impressed with the picture quality and the deep inky blacks. This faded quickly (in the life I expect from a TV) when, just over a year into owning it, some burned-in distortion in color and light output became apparent. Reaching out to LG they arranged for the OLED panel to be replaced (not the whole TV). However, it was immediately clear that this panel was far inferior as it suffered from severe ghosting and heavy image retention. Reaching out to LG netted to further action do I lived with this TV for another couple years. Then fall 2021 burn-in again began to surface this time the pace at which the image quality declined was startling. For 6 months the issue was the talk of the household until finally it got so bad I reached back out to LG to complain. They were initially understanding and initially offered to have it replaced. However when it was realized that the OLED panel had been replaced previously, the response from LG fell to silence. When escalated to the LG Presidential level I was finally offered a nominal discount on a new LG TV. I expressed concern over buying another LG product (I've also had a terrible LG refrigerator ownership experience), I got nothing but silence. Ladt week I replaced the set with a same-size ULED from another company. It was half the current discount price of a new C1 OLED (April 2022) and when compared side-by-side, I was surprised how the new TV had blacks just as black and seemed to be of a better image quality/resolution. Buyer beware!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Was great until the screen started turning green The picture was beautiful until a giant green hue started taking over a giant blob in the middle about 2 years into buying the TV. Now every person looks like a zombie. There's also a burn-in problem with this panel that's far worse than any I've owned before and the screen needs to go through its pixel refresh mode at least once a week. Buying this was a huge mistake and I haven't seen anything to show that LG has solved this problem in future models, either.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Green blotches Several green blotches are appearing on the screen. It initially was only one, now there are several and it is getting worse and very distracting.

What is the distance between the bottom bezel and the bottom of the stand? I'm adding a soundbar and if I place a soundbar just in front of the TV stand, I don't want the soundbar to intrude into the picture.

I'm thinking of buying this tv but have i major question. Does the Dobly Atmos sound, sound super better then having a normal 7.1 LG Surround Sound soundbar?

Asked by: Frozen25
The Dolby Atmos system places speakers above the audience to create a 3D aural experience. But it’s more than just shoving a few speakers in the ceiling. The actual Atmos system lets film makers place sound elements in a 3D space. With 5.1 and 7.1 systems, when you want to create the illusion that someone is behind the audience you just throw that sound to those speakers. It’s a speaker based system. With Atmos, instead of pushing a sound to a particular speaker, it’s pushed to a place in a 3D space. For example, to create the illusion of a helicopter flying overhead the sound engineering doesn’t pick which speaker the sound of the helicopter will come out of. Instead, the engineer picks a point in a 3D space and the Atmos system automatically adjusts the sound coming of the appropriate speaker. The result is an audio experience that pulls the sound up from the ear-level speakers of 7.1 and 5.1 systems. With Atmos it sounds like water is falling on a canopy above you in a scene with a storm. When something goes whizzing by your ears it “feels” like it’s actually happening in your room...^IFV
