What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 55" TV Really pleased with the quality... Picture is fantastic, lots of options to customize your picture the way you like (ex brightness). Light weight - easy for my husband and I to bring into the house. Optional wall mount. The size TV is right for our room!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great picture. I purchased this after reading a lot of reviews and trying some in-store picture comparisons. As it is part of good home theater, I was not that concered about sound quality, apps, etc. The picture quality is as good as it gets and I'm very happy with the TV.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OLED's are the new plasma's, unbelievable pictures The B6 started it all, and though there's newer models out there with slightly better pictures, you still can't go wrong with this model. One of the highest reviewed TVs ever! And rightfully so.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality I bought this in January of 2017. The HDMI ports slowly quit working. Now I do not have any HDMI ports that work. I would thing a TV that cost $2k would last longer than 18 months.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Screen Has Burn In! I bought this several weeks ago at Costco (it was a display model). While watching a 4K blu ray of Thor: Ragnarok this weekend, I noticed a faint, but noticeable, burn in of the LG logo in the middle of the screen. I assume this may be due to it being left on at Costco without an image being displayed, but it is still disappointing. I plan to return it. Otherwise, I like the picture, and will probably replace it with another LG OLED.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from LG OLED55B6P TV is a bust! My LG OLED55B6P tv is not even two years old yet and it decided to stop working. I would not recommend spending the big dollars on this brand TV. Too risky. I'm taking it to repair shop, but did not expect to be needing to repair it so soon. Think twice before making a similar purchase and buy the service plan.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great TV While It Lasts TV was outstanding for the first 18 months, then the burn in started to kick in. I can visibly see ESPN's PTI banner in detail (which is only a 30 minute show) on any picture that has red in this area. I had all of the screen options turned on that was supposed to prevent this. I contacted customer service multiple times and the only response I received was that LG wouldn't cover the damage and they referred me to the local service technician. The cost of replacing the OLED panel was nearly as much as purchasing a new TV. It's crazy that LG will not cover this considering the cost of these TV's as it's clearly a defect in their product as noted on other reviews!

My PC is plugged into B6P with 2.2 HDMI cable (4k 60fps). When I turn my game to any resolution above 1080p with Vsync, FPS is capped to 30. Does this T.V. support > 30FPS @ > resolutions 1080p? If so, what am I doing wrong? I have it in game mode.

Asked by: Sohnsat
I think Amber missed your question. The 2016 LG OLED models do not support frame rates above 30fps for the 2160p modes. Your console is properly adjusting for this.

the 120hz it serves for any kind from content??? sports, movies, videogames...

Asked by: Kimba SSJ5
Hi Kimba SSJ5. You'll have to pardon us, but we don't quite understand your question about the LG B6 OLED 4K HDR Smart TV - 55" Class (54.6" Diag), Model # OLED55B6P. The TV has a 120 Hz panel, the source footage is never greater than 60Hz. When you watch a movie on Blu-ray, it's a 1080p picture at 60Hz. The disc displays 60 interlaced or 30 progressive frames at 1,920-by-1,080 resolution per second of video. For movies that were recorded on film, the original footage is actually 24 frames per second, upconverted to 30 frames through a process known as 2:3 pulldown. It distributes the source frames so they can be spread across 30 instead of 24 frames per second. Those frames are then interlaced (combined and shuffled) to 60 "frames" per second to match the 60Hz refresh rate of the vast majority of TVs you can buy today. American TVs have displayed 30 (actually, 29.97) frames per second and functioned at 60Hz since time immemorial. It's not really a problem, because between interlacing and frame pulldown, the process doesn't attempt to add information to the picture. It's simply converting it to function on the TV, because it wouldn't work otherwise...^IFV

When is the patch coming to fix the issues with Dolby vision black levels for the B6 series?

Asked by: Gman1031
Hi Gman1031. The LG B6 OLED 4K HDR Smart TV - 65" Class (64.5" Diag), Model # OLED65B6P and all our OLEDS will soon receive an update that addresses that issue. Regrettably we don't have a date yet as we are currently doing some internal testing for the fix. Dolby admitted at CES in January that there has been an issue with playing Dolby Vision sources over HDMI that finds black levels suddenly reducing dramatically with certain dark scenes content. LG has been diligently working with Dolby to address the issue and confirmed during a conference on LG's 2018 TVs in Madrid, on March 21, that LG has received a second profile update from Dolby that’s designed to resolve the remaining issues with playing Dolby Vision over HDMI....^IFV
