What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Downgrade from previous model Downgrade from the old model. Extremely annoying phone. 1) No video 2) Had to transfer contacts manually 1 by 1 from old phone 3) Ditto photos 4) Pressure-sensitive interface instead of arrow buttons around "OK" button work badly. When I press "OK" i sometimes inadvertantly hit a pressure-sensitive spot which disrupts what I was doing & forces me to start over.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loss of signal - galore I upgrade from a VN150 to this VN170 model. It is basically the same exact mobile phone. Now when I travel the same roads as before, I get several voice alerts indicating "Loss of Service". I contacted my carrier Verizon, they blame LG for making it cheaper. I contact LG and they blame Verizon. LG indicated the same exact construction is used. The phone works and cell towers don't move. Could it be Verizon adjusting the antenna direction and power output? Could be a cheaper form or location of antenna by LG? Hope the next generation VN180 works better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good phone for the price I got this to simplify my life, and it fits that bill quite well. Texting is awful (T9 is the easiest, and it's pretty awful), but aside from that it's worked flawlessly for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst phone ever! I have had to go into Verizon now over 10 times. They have replaced the battery and the entire phone. My phone randomly shuts down. It will be sitting on a table...shuts down. I try to make a phone call...shuts down. No one will replace no one will give me money back. This is by far the worst phone I have every had!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Use only if you know telekinesis. Buyer beware - there are buttons on the sides. The only way to open the phone is to push the buttons inadvertently. We bought it for a business phone because we didn't want all that internet junk. This will do internet and messaging, but seriously, I don't think anyone would want to do that on a 1 inch screen with big letters. And that is part of the reason we bought it. It seems to work flawlessly as a phone. But we have found that the only way to answer it is to hang up on people and call them back. We don't do it on purpose - it's the stupid buttons on the sides. My wife will hang up just digging around in her purse - the buttons will be pushed by just the stuff in her purse. What do the buttons do? I have no idea. They aren't labeled. The left side looks like a volume control, and the right side, I have no idea.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Semi-smart phone I really like this little basic phone. It has all I need in a phone, plus it has a camera. I got the leather case for it and like wearing it on my pocket.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beware I have used this phone for a year. I was told by the Verizon salesman that all I had to do to dnload my pictures was plug it into my computer and it would recognize and show them. Well, I should have known better than to believe anything Verizon told me. You will have to purchase 3rd party software off the internet to dnload pics. It seems like as much as LG and Verizon charges for this phone, they would supply a basic feature that most other phones have.
