Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Phone I bought this phone from T-Mobile in September 2020, before LG decided to stop making cell phones. I really like this phone. It's slim and lightweight. The screen is the perfect size and the image quality is great. It takes excellent pictures and has all of the right apps that I need. The only problem I have with this phone is the sound quality. On a scale from 1 to 10, it's an 8. I think because the speaker is at the bottom rather than on the back like my previous LG phones. I always feel like I have to turn it all the way up in order to be able to hear it good. Either that or use earbuds. But over all it's a great phone and I'm going to miss LG phones when it's time to replace this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from LG velvet horrible Worst phone I've had. Not a smooth operating phone, functionality doesn't work well. Proximity sensor doesn't work properly, pocket dials from my ear while I'm on a call. Searches in your settings doesn't work so it is difficult to solve problems when you have them.

Interested in two Velvet 5G on Tmobile, it seems that the reviews on the Velvet on AT&T and Verison are positive whereas on Tmobile not so much. Is the Tmobile variant or Tmobile's software to blame, and is there a fix.

The LG VELVET™ 5G | T-Mobile, Model # LMG900TMYATMOAY and its variants from Verizon and AT&T are Android phones and updates to Android devices involve a lot of legwork from your mobile network. For major firmware updates or software upgrades, the first step is largely dependent on the experience that the combination of the new software and the hardware capabilities of the device can offer customers and the call is made by the manufacturer in the first instance and they can start to develop their device's version once they receive the software from Google. Manufacturers will then add their own treatments to the software, which could include standard apps and specific settings. At that point, when the carriers receive the software from the manufacturer they then add network-specific elements. Once the software build is finalized, the next step is testing. Once engineers receive the final build they embark on a testing program. There can be several different versions of the software before it makes it to a device. Firmware testing can typically take anything from one day to one week, depending on the carrier's previous experience with an individual manufacturer, and the complexity of the upgrade itself, and bug fixes are usually quickest to test, but platform upgrades with new features take longer. The manufacturer's release notes are also scrutinized for anything that might cause problems when the software is rolled out. The device is tested on a live network and the update is checked out to make sure it can be supplied OTA, or Over The Air via the network. When the carriers finish testing the updates, they will send it back to the manufacturer and to Google, for final approval with recommendations for any improvements. If the variant you receive has any issues with the software, you would need to contact the carrier for any fixes...^IFV

The LG VELVET™ 5G | T-Mobile, Model # LMG900TMYATMOAY is a Dual Screen compatible phone. The LG Dual Screen™ for LG VELVET™ 5G is available as an option and is sold separately from select carriers. The LG Dual Screen™ for the LG VELVET™ 5G is not compatible with every variant of the LG VELVET™ 5G and is only compatible with the LG VELVET™ 5G sold by that specific carrier. (i.e. the LG Dual Screen™ for AT&T is incompatible with Verizon and T-Mobile devices)...^IFV
