CONNECTING TO A WIRED NETWORK Before you can connect to your network you will need to make sure you have the necessary components:
|
|
Do you have a preexisting wired network? If you have a network already set-up andworking for other devices, simply connect the LAN cable to the back of the LG device from the back of the router/modem.
If you do not have a wired home network already set-up you will need to have a broadband modem (Cable, DSL, etc.) and a router, which is sometimes combined with a modem if obtained from your service provider.
Note: If you do not at least have a modem, you will not be able to set up a wired home network. If all the necessary accessories are on hand, follow the on screen instructions and select Wired Network when prompted to select the connection type. |

IP Settings Auto IP Setting (Most Common)
Manual IP Setting (advanced, Less Common) If you prefer to set the Manual IP Settings, you may need to contact your Internet Service Provider to obtain the necessary IP information. You can attempt to do the following manually using the steps below. Windows XP
Windows 7
By knowing the IP address of the computer or a router on the network, you can assign this device an IP address. You simply change the last set of numbers to a number that is not being used by any other device on the network.
The additional information (Subnet Mask, Gateway, DNS) from the command window can be entered into the remaining fields of the IP settings on the LG device. |
