Is the concentration of indoor fine dust exceptionally high even if an air purifier is used?
Are you experiencing this cause/symptom?
- I cooked food indoors.
- There is a humidifier next to it.
- The outside air is coming in through the ventilation system.
- PM1.0 (dust) sensor is contaminated.

In winter, outdoor fine dust levels are high, so operating an air purifier may not reduce indoor dust levels.
In this case, first check the ventilation system to see if polluted air from outside is entering indoors.
Also, if you use the air purifier in a place larger than the capacity of the product, the air cleaning performance may not be sufficient.
Try this:
Do you leave the air purifier on when you cook?
➔ When cooking, open the window to ventilate and turn on the air purifier after you’re done cooking.
Fine dust is generated when you cook with the windows closed.
If you use an air purifier in this condition, the grease particles can adhere to the filter, and the filter replacement cycle can be shortened.
When cooking, turn off the air purifier and open the window to ventilate.
Turning on the air purifier after cooking can effectively eliminate fine dust while saving filter life.
Is there a humidifier near the air purifier?
➔ Dust sensors applied to PuriCare air purifiers identify water molecules emitted from ultra-soundwave/heating humidifiers as dust particles.
We do not recommend using air purifiers together with ultrasonic/heated humidifiers.
If you want to use a humidifier, using a natural vaporization humidifier is recommended.
※ The scale included in the water molecules of ultrasonic humidifiers causes the lifespan of the filter to shorten.
Has it been a while since you cleaned the PM1.0 sensor?
➔ If there is a lot of dust in the sensor, it cannot be measured exactly.
Please clean the PM1.0 sensor once every two months.
Remove the air purifier cover and open the cover of the sensor marked [PM1.0 SENSOR].
Wipe the lens in the 10 o'clock direction inside with a slightly wet cotton swab.
Wipe the lens with a dry cotton swab to completely remove moisture and assemble the air purifier cover.
How to check the sensor status when dust levels remain [Good]
If the product reacts as above, the dust sensor function is working normally. If there is no change, an engineer check-up is needed.
How to check the sensor status when dust levels remain [Very bad]
If there is no change, please consult with the LG Electronics Service Center.
Is the outdoor fine dust concentration high?
➔ Turn off the indoor ventilation system in the house for a while and then operate the air purifier.
Please shut down or turn off the ventilation system in the house to prevent outside air from coming in on days of high outdoor fine dust.
Ventilation systems are usually installed on the balcony window or near the utility room.
For apartments, ventilation systems can be adjusted through the wall pads installed on the living room walls.
Next, select the Clean Booster function to set the booster speed to [High] or [Turbo]. This way, you can lower indoor fine dust levels more quickly.
