Your LG smart TV already can connect you to many new ways to view content over the internet. You can take more control of your TV with the ThinQ app. This article will show you the ways you can control your connected TV with the ThinQ app.
- You can power the TV off/on directly from the device card on the home screen of the LG ThinQ App.
- If you have the notification controls enabled you can swipe down from your phone’s notification panel and control power, volume, and channel.
NOTE: You may still need to use an external remote if you are connected to a cable box.

Magic Tap
The magic tap function provides you with quick way to enjoy media from your smartphone on your TV.
- Mobile Screen Mirroring – duplicates your phones screen on the TV
- Mobile Contents on TV – Uses DLNA to stream photo, video, and music files to your TV.
NOTE: Mobile screen mirroring may not be available on all phones.

Search
You can easily search for any keyword on your smart TV using the search function in the ThinQ app.

ThinQ TV Settings
Here you can control general settings of your connected TV.
- Product Nickname - Useful if you have more than one smart TV. You can give each one a custom nickname to easily distinguish between them.
- Location - You can assign a TV to a specific room in your home. This can also be done by choosing manage rooms in the app settings.

- Toggle Notification Controller - Turns the phone notification controls on or off.
- Delete Product - Select this option to remove the product from the ThinQ app.
