Noises during load sensing - Top Load Washer

Start button is pressed, but the water does not fill immediately and the washer makes a clicking noise.

  • Newer washer models automatically adjust the amount of water and the cycle time based on the weight of the laundry in the tub.

  • The load sensor operates for about 1 minute before water is supplied.

  • Before detecting the laundry weight, the washing plate moves to the left and right to align the gears of the motor. At this time, it may cause a "clicking" noise.

  • After aligning the gears of the motor, the tub rotates for about 30 seconds in one direction to detect the weight of the laundry.

  • Once load sensing is complete, the fill level, selected cycle, number of rinses, and spin speed are calculated and a total estimated time is displayed as water is supplied.
