Xbox Series X vs Xbox One X
The new Xbox Series X builds on some of its predecessors’ most exciting features while unlocking greater processing power and improved graphics.
- Graphics twice as powerful as Xbox One X and eight times that of Xbox One
- Eight-core 3.8GHz per core vs Xbox One X (2.3GHz per core)
- 16GB of GDDR6 RAM vs 12GB of GDDR5 RAM in the Xbox One X
- Solid state drive (SSD) means shorter load times and switching between games in an instant

For all their hardware differences, the two consoles do share some similarities. For a start, the Xbox Series X is backwards-compatible. Not only will you be able to play Xbox One X games, but reach back even further into history and play games from any Xbox generation – all graphically enhanced.
Previous generations of Xbox wireless controllers are also compatible with the new Xbox Series X.
