If Your Front Load Washer Has a Motor Error and Shows an LE Error Code

  • Troubleshooting

An LE error code appears on the display when the washer tub isn’t spinning properly.

Why Isn’t Your Washer Tub Spinning?

  • The washer may be overloaded, putting too much strain on the motor.
  • The motor may stop temporarily if you run several cycles back to back.
  • A coin or other object may be caught in a gap around the tub.
  • A temporary error may keep the tub from spinning.

How to Clear an LE Error Code

Case 1. Check the Tub for Coins or Other Objects

Removing an object from the gap around the washer tub

Turn off the washer. Check the gaps around the tub for coins or other objects. Use pliers, tweezers, or a similar tool to remove any objects you find.

Case 2. Reduce the Load or Select the Bedding Cycle

If the washer is overloaded, remove some items. When washing a large comforter or other bulky bedding, select the Bedding cycle.

Case 3. Restart Your Washer

Unplug the washer. Wait five minutes, and then plug it back in. This can clear temporary electrical or communication errors.

Case 4. Still need help?

If the issue persists after following the steps above, you can get further support through LG Chatbot on our website or by requesting a technician visit.
