- Laundry is caught between the door and the rubber gasket.
- Your washer door is not fully closed.
- The rubber gasket is deformed.
- The washer door or one of its components is damaged.
How to Check and Close Your Washer Door
Case 1. Press the Center of the Door Handle Until It Clicks
Open the door, and then close it again by pressing the center of the handle until it clicks.
Check that the dE code disappears and your washer operates normally.
Case 2. Move the Laundry Farther Into the Drum
The door may not close completely if laundry is caught near the door opening or rubber gasket.
Move all laundry farther into the drum so that nothing is caught in the door.
Case 3. Still Need Help?
If the issue persists after following the steps above, you can get further support through LG Chatbot on our website or by requesting a technician visit.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Q. Is It Safe to Keep Using the Washer if I Have to Slam the Door Before It Locks?
-
A. No. Slamming the door may damage the door latch or door switch sensor. If the washer detects that the door is closed only after you slam it, the door may be misaligned or the latch may be slightly out of position.
Do not force or slam the door. Close the door gently. Press the center of the door handle to close it. If the washer still does not detect that the door is closed, contact LG Customer Service.
Move left or right to check the contents.
