LG Gram +View - Troubleshooting No Display

  • Troubleshooting

When connecting the smartphone and portable monitor,
inserting the USB-C cable into the smartphone first may trigger the phone’s moisture detector, resulting in no CC transmission and thus no display on the monitor.
Ensure to connect the USB-C cable to the monitor first, then to the smartphone. Additionally,
it is essential to use a PD charger when connecting the smartphone and monitor.

Try this.

Verify whether the device to be connected with the monitor supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode (DP Alt Mode) and USB Power Delivery (USB PD).
When connecting the smartphone and monitor, plug the USB-C cable into the monitor first, then the other end into the smartphone.

Ensure that the USB-C cable enclosed in the monitor purchase is correctly connected to both the monitor and device.

Connect the USB-C port of the monitor and PC using a USB-C cable.

Connecting the portable monitor and laptop PC by plugging a USB-C cable into the USB-C ports of the devices.
The device to be connected with the monitor must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode (DP Alt Mode) and provide power output (USB PD) of at least 7.5 W (5 V / 1.5 A).
  • Use the USB-C cable provided with the monitor or an LG-certified cable.
Display may appear abnormal if an uncertified cable is used.
  • If the PC connected to the monitor runs out of battery, connection to the monitor may be affected.
  • This monitor supports plug-and-play functionality.

Connect a PD charger to the monitor before connecting to another device (PC, smartphone, etc.).
The portable monitor may not function normally if it is used without connecting a PD charger.

The image explains that the monitor should be connected to a PD charger before connecting to devices such as a PC laptop or a smartphone.
A charger is not included in the purchase package. Be sure to use a charger with a safety certification mark,
indicating its compliance with your country’s electronic equipment safety requirements.
  • To use the USB PD (Power Delivery) function, a minimum specification of 25 W PD charger is required.
(However, it is advised to use a 45 W PD charger.)
  • A 65 W PD charger supports up to 45 W of PD output.
A 45 W PD charger supports up to 30 W of PD output.
A 25 W PD charger supports up to 10 W of PD output.
  • In sleep mode or when powered off, PD charging will not work.
Unplug the charging cable from the monitor if the monitor won’t be used for a while.
  • Some smartphone chargers and PCs may not support PD charging.
