Congratulations on your new range and choosing LG. I know that you are excited to get started using your range so that you can create your culinary masterpieces. Before you get started, here are a few tips that will improve your cooking experience. If you smell a strong odor or see smoke coming from your new range, this is normal and no cause for alarm.

Note: No food should be put in oven while you are breaking in your new range.

Begin by making sure that the kitchen is well ventilated by opening windows and doors.
Remove all insulation, plastic films, cardboard and zip ties from the range.
In a bucket of water, mix water with a mild soap or detergent.
Soak the sponge in the soapy water and wipe down the outside of the range. Let dry.

Wash the oven racks and dry thoroughly before placing it back into the oven.
Set a self-clean cycle for a minimum of 3 hours or begin bake mode for a minimum of 3 hours. (You may need to repeat these steps until the smell is completely gone).
