LG Range - Troubleshooting An Induction Range Turning Off During Operation

  • Troubleshooting

At a Glance

Does the induction turn off and is [H] displayed while it's operating?
Does the highlight turn off and on repeatedly during operation?

LG induction ranges are equipped with an overheating prevention system, preventing accidents that may occur due to overheating of the range.
If the cookware temperature suddenly increases while cooking on the large burner, it automatically stops operating.
Since the heating wire is turned off and on to adjust the amount of heat generated, it can be turned off naturally if the burner temperature is higher than the set heating power level.
Therefore, even when it stops operating, the heating power actually doesn't decrease and the temperature is maintained.
In this case, the lower the heating power level, the more often the burner may turn off or the longer it may remain off.

Try This

Did you cook at a high temperature when using the large induction burner?

➔ The overheating prevention function was activated to prevent an accident, and this is a normal function.

[H] disappears automatically after the induction turns off and the temperature drops below a certain temperature.
Cook with low heating power to increase the temperature of the cookware slowly.
When using a frying pan, it is recommended that you place and use it on top of the burner, not removing it from the burner if possible.
The overheating prevention function is set only for the large burner, so if the burner frequently turns off even though you use it at a lower heating power, use the medium burner.

Using an intermediate burner

Did you set the low heating power level of the highlight or did the temperature of the cooktop rise after using it for a long time?

➔ It's normal that the power cycles on and off to adjust the temperature of the cooktop.

If it is inconvenient for the highlight to turn off and on automatically, set the heating power level to 9.
It operates continuously without turning on and off.
However, if the inside temperature of the burner reaches 550℃, it still turns on and off on Level 9.
If you need higher heating power, use the dual function.
When you select the large burner and press the [Dual] button, a red light will light on the indicator lamp and the size of the large burner will increase.

※ The On/Off time may differ slightly depending on the model and particular service environments.

Use dual buttons to enable dual functionality
Wait! Find out more.
When you press the [Dual] button while all 3 burners are operating, an alarm will sound twice and the dual function will not operate.
If you use a small or medium burner and a large burner at the same time and use the dual function, the dual function is automatically turned off if you operate another burner.
The dual function is only available in the 3-burner models [BER3G*].
