[LG Steam Dryer] When and how is steam injected?

  • Troubleshooting

Applicable models : Steam Dryers

Causes and Symptoms

  • I would like to know how the steam function works, its temperature and how it is applied to each cycle.

How does the steam function work?

➔ The steam generator heats clean water to 100℃/212°F, producing small water molecules that permeate through the fabric, effectively removing creases and odors while also sanitizing the laundry.

Jet steam temperature

➔ When steam is generated, the temperature inside the drum may reach up to 75℃/167°F to 80℃/176°F, and the temperature of the steam 100℃/212°F.

The duration of steam injection is different for each steam cycle/option.

Steam is injected downwards at a 45° angle from the back of the drum.

Steam is sprayed from the top of the back of the dryer inside the dryer.
Note
During a steam cycle, the drum spins to remove large dust particles from the laundry before steam is injected.
This process lasts for 4 minutes and may be accompanied by warm air drying.
Following this, a warm air/cool air drying phase occurs, which removes any remaining dust from the laundry.
To maintain optimal performance, regularly clean the filter to prevent it from becoming clogged with dust,
which can cause dust to stick to the door and gasket. After each use, clean the filter and wipe dust off the door and gasket.
For best results, fill the drum only up to half its capacity to ensure proper airflow.
Overfilling the drum can result in some dust sticking to the door and gasket.
