[LG TV] Memory Shortage Error / App won’t run

  • Troubleshooting

Are you experiencing the following problems?
When connecting to certain websites, the TV powers off and on.
A certain website does not open.
A system message reading ‘This app will restart for more efficient memory use’ appears and the app does not run.
To resolve such problems, perform a power cycle and delete some apps.
If it is a temporary memory shortage, turning Quick Start+ off and performing a power cycle may resolve the issue.

Try this

Turn Quick Start+ off and then perform a power cycle.

If the message ‘This app will restart for more efficient memory use’ appears, first turn Quick Start+ off. Next, unplug the power cord and reconnect after 10 minutes.

Note
TVs released before 2012 no longer support internet browsers due to security issues regarding certain websites.
Some apps may not run on WebOS3.5 TVs released before 2017 and show memory-related notifications. Due to limitations in the TV’s software, recent web technology standards may not be supported.
If a website is too large for the TV’s memory to process, the TV may shut down the web browser or reboot itself to prevent abnormal behavior.
If issues persist, you may need to contact the app developer or the problematic website.
