Connecting to LG Gram's Portable Monitor with USB Type C
To start simply connect the USB-C™ ports of the monitor and the PC using the USB-C™ cable
- Use the USB-C™ cable enclosed with the monitor for connection. If a cable for a different product is used, it may cause the screen to operate abnormally.
- The USB-C™ port only supports single connection and does not support multiple connections.
- If the device connected to the monitor has low battery, connection may be lost
Connecting to a VGA Monitor
In order to connect your LG Gram to a standard monitor you need a HDMI to VGA converter. There are two different kinds of HDMI to VGA converters that you can find; with audio & without audio. Either one is fine for this case.
- Connect one side of the VGA cable to the monitor and the other side to the converter
- Connect a separate HDMI cable to the laptop and the converter.
Connecting to multiple monitors
Connecting to multiple monitors or Daisy chaining refers to the ability to connect many monitors from a single video output source.
Using Thunderbolt
To daisy chain with Thunderbolt connections, all of your devices' Thunderbolt ports must be version 3 or higher, and all connections must have Thunderbolt 3/4 cables.
- Turn On all monitors.
- Connect your laptop's Thunderbolt out to the Thunderbolt in of the first monitor.
- Connect your first monitor's Thunderbolt out to the Thunderbolt in of your second monitor and continue for as many monitors you have..
Using Docking Station
Another way to connect your LG Gram to multiple display is via docking station. The amount of display supported may vary per model or type of the port. Additionally for HDMI you can use Multi Monitor Adapters.
Not Detecting Second Monitor
Restart Your PC
Restarting your computer may potentially help you resolve the problem. Although some users claim that this is simply a temporary solution.
Check Your Cables
When your monitor is well connected and the connection cable is loose or damaged, the monitor goes to sleep. This means the secondary monitor won't diplay anything. Simply turn off the system and inspect the video cable and ports. Additionally you can test both the cable and the monitor by connecting them to other devices.
Keep Your Drivers Up to Date
Make sure your graphics driver is up to date. If you have incompatible, corrupt, missing, or obsolete drivers, you will get the "Windows 11 not detecting second monitor" problem. To resolve the problem, you must upgrade the driver.
- Run devmgmt.msc. and press Enter to go to Device Manager.
- Beneath the Display adapters right-click your graphics card driver and choose Update driver.
Reinstall Your Graphics Driver
Since Windows 11 has been updated, your drivers may no longer be up to date. Additionally in some cases this problem might have occurred due to corrupted/ outdated drivers on your device. As a result, you must delete and reinstall the graphics drivers. Lastly, in certain circumstances, Windows Update would surreptitiously rollback graphics driver changes, so it's crucial to check your drivers on a regular basis.
- Run devmgmt.msc. and press Enter to go to Device Manager.
- Beneath the Display adapters right-click your graphics card driver and click uninstall.
- Download and install latest display driver from the computer manufacturer's website
