[TYPE 1] Installed on the refrigerator door
The replacement instruction for this item may differ slightly from the information below.
Remove the door basket.
- Depending on the model you use, there may be no door basket.
Open the water filter cover.
Remove the disposable water filter.
Replace with a new water filter.
Insert the new filter into the filter head and rotate it clockwise until the arrow on the new filter lines up with the arrow on the filter head.
Swing the filter back into the compartment.
Close the water filter cover.
- After the water filter is replaced, dispense 2.5 gallons of water (flush for approximately 5minutes) to remove trapped air and contaminants from the system.
Refit the door basket.
After changing the filter, press and hold the Water Filter button for three seconds to reset the indicator light.

[TYPE 2] Installed on the top of the refrigerator
The replacement instruction for this item may differ slightly from the information below.
Pinch the sides to open the water filter cover.
- If the top shelf, located below the water filter, is in the highest position, it will need to be removed prior to replacing the water filter.
To remove any shelf, tilt up the front of the shelf and lift it. Pull the shelf out.
Make sure to rotate the filter down completely before pulling it out of the filter head.
Pull the water filter downward and turn to counterclockwise.
Take the new water filter out of its packing and remove the protective cover from the orings.
With the water filter tabs in the horizontal position, push the new water filter into the manifold hole and turn it clockwise until it stops.
Rotate the water filter up into position and close the cover.
The cover will click when closed correctly.
- After the water filter is replaced, dispense 2.5 gallons of water (flush for approximately 5minutes) to remove trapped air and contaminants from the system.

[TYPE 3] Installed on the refrigerator shelf

Open the water filter cover.
Remove the disposable water filter.
Replace with a new water filter. Insert the new filter into the filter head and rotate it clockwise until the arrow on the new filter lines up with the arrow on the filter head. Swing the filter back into the compartment.
Close the water filter cover.
Press and hold the Water Filter button for 3 seconds.
- Dispense water for approximately 5 minutes to remove trapped air and contaminants.
