How to search for apps
Press and hold the Home button. You can use Google Search to search for installed apps.
For quick access to this feature, install the Google Search widget on your Home screen. To add the Google Search widget, shift to Home screen Edit mode.

You can search not only apps but also through your contacts and the settings menu.
