If water remains in the washer, the drain hose position or drain pump filter may be affecting drainage. Check the hose, clean the filter, then run a spin cycle to help drain the water.
This issue may occur for these reasons.
Drainage can be affected when the drain hose is bent, incorrectly positioned, or when the drain pump filter is blocked.
1. The drain hose may be bent or misplaced
A bent or incorrectly positioned drain hose can slow or stop water from leaving the washer. Straightening the hose and placing it correctly can help restore normal drainage.
2. The drain pump filter may be clogged
Dust, lint, pins, or other small objects can collect in the drain pump filter. When the filter is blocked, water may not drain completely.
Please check the washer in this order.
Follow these steps to drain remaining water and clear common blockages.
Step 1. Run a spin cycle
Turn on the washing machine. Press the Spin button, then press Start. When the spin light turns on, the washer will begin draining water.
Step 2. Check the drain hose position
Straighten the drain hose and make sure it lies flat on the ground. Confirm that the hose is positioned correctly, without bends or kinks.
Step 3. Open the drain access panel
Open the drain access panel at the lower front of the washing machine. You will see the drain hose and the drain pump filter inside.
Step 4. Drain the remaining water
Pull out the drain hose and remove the plug. Let the water drain out completely, then reinsert the plug and place the hose back in position.
Step 5. Clean the drain pump filter
Turn the filter counterclockwise to remove it. Clean it under running water with a brush, and remove any dust, lint, pins, or other objects. Reinsert the filter, then close the access cover.
