If the unit is too cold, ensure that the temperature for BOTH the refrigerator and freezer compartments are set properly. Most models will default to 0° for the freezer and 37° for the refrigerator.
You DO NOT need to set the unit to COLD when there is small quantity food in the unit, when the doors are not opened too frequently or when the ambient temperature is cool.

Adjust temperature settings.
Check to see that the unit is set to its optimal setting. 37 DEGREES is the recommended temperature for the refrigerator and 0 DEGREE for the freezer. The recommendation is only a starting point and may require adjusting depending on the amount of food stored in the unit, how often the doors are opened, and even the ambient temperature around the unit.

How to measure temperature accuratelyx
Using a thermometer, the temperature of the food may be different from the unit's internal temperature. The temperature measured by a thermometer can change depending on where the unit is placed and the frequency of opening the door.
If the thermometer measures the temperature more than 4°F warmer than the set temperature, this is a normal operation.
Do not place thermometer next to warm/hot food inside the refrigerator.
The best place to put the thermometer is in the upper drawer center, inside the freezer and/or the upper shelf center, inside the refrigerator
The thermometer can be placed into a glass of cold water or inside a jar of condiments that have been inside the refrigerator for more than 24 hours to give a more accurate reading of the average refrigerator temperature.
Check icemaker door.
When the icemaker door is NOT properly closed, the freezer's temperature will escape into the refrigerator compartment.
Make sure that the door to the ice maker compartment is completely shut.

Food close to temperature sensors.
Detect the unit's temperature sensors and re-arrange the food.
The room temperature sensors must not be blocked by food or other items.
This unit's temperature sensor may be blocked by the food containers.
The proper space around the temperature sensor will allow the cold heat to circulate.
Food Close to air vents.
If food is kept too close or directly in front of the air vent, there is possibility of the food getting too cold or frosting.
Re-arrange the food properly to allow space from the air vent.
If frost is built up on one side of the freezer more than the other this indicates that the freezer drawer is not sealing properly. Rearrange food items to ensure that nothing is blocking the door from shutting completely and monitor the unit for 4-6 hours.
3 Quick Steps to follow:
Check door sealing.
When the door is not properly sealed, cold air will escape from the door seal which will cause frosting. Ensure that NO items are blocking the door from closing.
Check door gasket.
If the door gasket is dirty or compressed, clean it by using warm water or mild detergent and pull out any compressed part.
Hot food in the unit.
Adding hot food to the refrigerator compartment will temporarily dissipate warm heat throughout the unit. The unit will require some time to cool down the hot food and regulate its internal temperature.
Check air vents.
Be sure to check the air vents in both compartments for frost buildup.
Frost buildup on the return air vents will restrict cold air from entering different sections of the refrigerator and reduce the cooling efficiency of the entire unit.
