DAS (Dynamic Action Sync) Function in LG Monitor
Dynamic Action Sync (DAS) is a specialized hardware feature built into LG monitors designed to minimize input lag, giving gamers a critical split-second advantage in fast-paced competitive gameplay. In standard monitors, video signals undergo a processing delay inside the monitor's internal scaler and frame buffer before the image is physically projected onto the screen. When you enable the DAS mode, the monitor effectively bypasses these internal memory buffers, allowing the processed video data to pass directly to the display panel almost instantaneously. This real-time rendering synchronizes your physical actions—such as clicking a mouse or moving a controller joystick—directly with what you see on the screen, which is essential for first-person shooters (FPS), racing games, and fighting titles where every millisecond counts.
* The Action Mode (Dynamic Action Sync) minimizes delay of graphic card input signals to ensure instant reactions.
* The minimization or non-use of frame buffer only works when it is possible to process with the same frequency from input to output.
※ This is automatically activated at 60Hz of vertical frequency.
* The left screen displays when the action mode is disabled, while the right screen displays when the action mode is enabled.
Try This
To set the DAS mode
➔ Using the joystick, go to “Menu > Selection Function > DAS Mode” and select On or Off.
1. Turning on the DAS mode will not use the frame buffer and thus minimize input lag.
2. This is enabled in the Video mode only.
3. In the Game mode, DAS ON is set by default and thus this is disabled.
4. The screen will flicker when DAS Mode On/Off is selected.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Q. How do I turn on Dynamic Action Sync (DAS)?
- A. On most LG monitors, DAS mode turns on automatically when you switch your monitor's picture mode to Game Mode or FPS/RTS mode.
- Q. Why is the DAS option grayed out or locked in my menu?
- A. The setting locks if your monitor is not receiving a standard gaming signal. Try turning off FreeSync/G-Sync, or ensure your screen refresh rate is set higher than 60Hz in your PC settings.
