Detailed program information, once referred to as “XDS (eXtended Data Service)” in the analog broadcast days, is made available as part of the CBC transmission signal. As such, in order to access said information, customer must rely on the television tuner connected to an antenna and have tuned TV to available over-the-air channels. Should viewer rely on a cable/satellite set-top-box receiver, respective channel information is then provided via that external peripheral device.
