Supported compressed video codecs on 4K TV

The two major compressed 4K resolution video codecs supported on LG 4K resolution televisions are HEVC (H.265) and VP9. That being said both formats are supported at a resolution of 4096 x 2160 at 60 frames per second.

HEVC (H.265) being an improvement successor to AVC (H.264), implies the HEVC decoder will play H.264 coded video files only not at 60 frames per second in the case of 4096 x 2160 resolution but at a maximum of 30 fps.
