- Empty or minimize food in the fridge before activating — a warm fridge doesn’t safely preserve perishables.
- Some models rename “Eco Friendly” mode to “Vacation Mode”, but the idea is the same: energy savings when not in everyday use.
- Ice makers and rapid freeze features normally do not work while this mode is active.
Note
In earlier generations of LG refrigerators—particularly the tall, slim models with recessed handles—a dedicated Vacation Mode function was available. This feature adjusted cooling performance to reduce energy use while the owner was away.
That function has since been discontinued. On current LG refrigerator models, Vacation Mode should be understood not as a selectable setting, but as a set of best-practice recommendations for preparing your refrigerator when you will be away from home for an extended period.
Note
Vacation Mode is available on selected LG refrigerator models. Please refer to your specific model's user manual to confirm if this feature is supported and for detailed instructions on its use.
Note
For newer models, this is also considered as Energy Saving mode. This feature is designed to reduce energy consumption when the refrigerator is not in regular use, such as during vacations or extended absences.
