    Proper leveling.

    Are ice cubes stuck together?

    The more ice is used, the less it will clump, if its not used frequently, the cubes may clump to one large mass of ice as the freezer runs through defrost cycles.

    Dispose ice pack

    Break up the ice cubes by shaking the bin to loosen the cubes or use an ice pick.

    Note: If you don't use your ice maker very often, it may be a good practice to empty the bin weekly and allow fresh ice to be made.

    Factors that causes clumping:

    1. Verify that the unit is leveled corectly; for more information, visit our LG Refrigerator Leveling Instructions.
    2. Check the water inlet valve that fills the ice cube tray in case it may be leaking.
    3. Check the door gasket for any tears and rips.
    4. Make sure the gasket is properly connected to the liner.
    5. Another option is to lower the temperature of the freezer.

    • Items in the freezer absorb cold temperature and help the freezer maintain a steady temperature. The less empty space there is in the freezer, the more efficiently it will cool.

      • Make sure the freezer is 3/4 full.

      • If necessary, add plastic jugs filled 2/3 full of water.

      Note: Don't use glass jars as they may crack or break in the freezer .

    Check for stuck of ice.

    Check the shoot to see if there is any ice stuck, check the deliver chute to see if it is clogged with frost or ice fragments.

    Check Augur Motor

    Pull out the ice bin and check to see if the small motor that turns the augur in the ice bin has ice or frost accumulation.

    Note: If the ice maker is stuck you can gently tap the ice maker with the heel of your palm in order to break clumped ice apart so that the bucket can be removed.

    Unfreeze the augur.

    If there is any frost accumulation, the augur may not rotate. Use a warm, wet rag to unfreeze the augur. Dry the part off and attempt to dispense ice again.

    Note: to prevent this in the future, you may increase the freezers temperature.

  11. 5.

    Check the flap.

    In the door, there is a flap that the ice comes through during dispensing. Water can accumulate around this flap and cause it to freeze shut.

  12. Try to manually move the flap manually. If the flap does not open, melt the accumulation with a warm, wet cloth. Dry the flap and chute and attempt to dispense ice again.

    Note: to prevent this in the future, you may increase the freezers temperature.

  13. If all troubleshooting from each section above has been performed and you are still experiencing this issue, your refrigerator will require repair service.
