Overview
The convection principle adds a fan to an oven’s cooking practice. The convection fan circulates the heat inside the oven cavity to ensure uniform temperature throughout the cavity.
Stepping up to True Convection, a heating element is placed around the convection fan to blow hot air into the oven cavity from the start.
To recapitulate, a conventional range oven would consist of a lower heating element and an upper broiling element, both of them exposed.
Adding a convection fan for cooking/baking maintains uniform heat inside the oven cavity.
True Convection consists of adding a heating element around the convection fan to blow hot air into the oven cavity in addition to both upper and lower heating elements.
However, there are certain True Convection Ranges, predecessors to ProBake Convection™ technology, such as model LRE3061ST, which were deprived of a bottom heating element from the design concept. Below are its process of operation:
Note The oven fan runs throughout while convection baking. The fan stops when the door is open. In some cases the fan may shut off during a convection bake cycle.
LG's ProBake Convection™ takes the True Convection notion farther by eliminating the lower heating element leaving it to blow in all the heat from the rear. This design concept gives ProBake ovens a slightly larger capacity than conventional models, ranging from 6.3 to 7.3 cubic feet of space depending on model.
LG ProBake Convection™ delivers even cooking much faster. Moving the main heating element from the bottom of the oven to the back wall for optimal heat distribution will result in cookies, roasts and more get perfectly cooked every time without possibly charring the bottom surface of the food.
Dual Oven will present themselves with an altogether different disposition in the upper cavity and the lower cavity.
