Arcing or Sparking – Cookware issue

Cause and Symptoms

Are the cookware and/or utensils being used inside microwave oven approved for such usage and considered microwave-proof or safe?

Try this

Not all cookware and utensils should be used in microwave ovens. Some, especially made from metal, risk causing sparking to the extent of arcing and permanently damage the inside cavity. Do not use anything in the microwave oven that is not microwave safe. This includes metal utensils, wire twist ties, etc. Damage to the interior cavity may occur.
