Water Splashing Noise [air conditioner]
Water splashing or a blowing noise usually occurs when the unit is running. These sounds are normal and are nothing to be concerned about. The noise is a result of moisture in the base pan of the air conditioner being picked up by a fan. This action performed by the air conditioner actually helps the unit to cool more effectively by helping to discharge the heat from the condenser coil.
Symptom
- Water noise (running, splashing, blowing)
Cause
- Foreign Objects - As the main parts that change the left/right and top/bottom airflow direction move, they can generate water dripping noise. Noise may occur in the early phase of use and due to the angle adjustment of the vertical and horizontal louver movement and adjustment to the correct position. As the operation continues, the noise level gets reduced.
- Flow of refrigerant - A flowing or blowing sound could be caused by the flow of refrigerant through the coils of the air conditioner.
Try this
Check the operating louver part airflow direction to see if it might be obstructed or clogged by any protection vinyl or foreign substance.
If the noise is caused by some foreign substance stuck to the louver, then remove it.
