Beyond Appliances: LG Showcases “Innovation Rooted in Craftsmanship” at Design House 2026 in Mexico
As the exclusive home appliance partner of Design Week Mexico 2026, LG Electronics (LG) showcased its latest solutions at Design House, the festival’s flagship exhibition.
Set this year within a Mexico City residence constructed in 1968, the luxurious showcase featured a curated selection of our latest solutions, from ultra-premium SKS built-in products and LG InstaView™ appliances to the sophisticated LG WashTower™ and LG Styler. These LG innovations embody the “Innovation Rooted in Craftsmanship” concept and were seamlessly integrated into Design House from the planning stage, demonstrating how technology and design can come together naturally to create spaces that are both functional and inspiring.
A Culinary Heritage Preserved
The kitchen has always been the beating heart of a home, a place where culinary culture and family heritage intertwine. Tasked with reimagining the main kitchen, DOMA Design delivered an elegant and highly usable area that highlights the effortless harmonization of our SKS brand’s sleek built-in solutions. The team at DOMA succeeded in realizing a space capable of serving multiple generations – an aesthetically-timeless environment where luxury performance meets enduring craftsmanship. Reflecting on this project, the studio noted, “Through precise, intentional design, we created a kitchen that will remain a vital and relevant part of everyday life for generations.”
Design for Connection
The basement of this bespoke Mexico City home was envisioned by award-winning designer Sebastián Ángeles, creative director of Dórica, as a dynamic social hub. Guided by a design philosophy centered on bringing people together, Ángeles created a bar area whose primary purpose is to enable and encourage social interaction. The basement also includes a dedicated refrigerator niche that houses our LG InstaView refrigerator, and an integrated sound zone built around our premium audio solutions. Describing how he fostered a social atmosphere by subtly blending the appliance into the surrounding space, Ángeles said, “Ideas evolve into matter, form, and atmosphere, giving abstraction a tangible presence.”
Elevating the Everyday Routine
Perhaps the most surprising architectural statement of this real-world exhibition was the utility area. Often overlooked, this space was completely reimagined by EUCLID Furniture. The studio executed an aluminum-finish corridor, aptly named the Pasaje Inmersivo (Immersive Passage), connecting the kitchen and the playroom. At the center of this functional yet stylish space stood our LG WashTower, completed in sophisticated Green/Beige. Explaining the idea behind turning a traditional laundry room into an elevated space, the EUCLID team shared, “Transforming matter gives rise to new ways of inhabiting spaces and living everyday life.”
Fluidity in Personal Spaces
Personal spaces require a delicate balance of aesthetics and care – a balance beautifully achieved by Pseudónimo, the studio led by Didier Solo and Fernanda García. For the residence’s second bedroom and dressing room, the designers embraced fluidity and color to great effect. This vibrant and welcoming private sanctuary incorporates an LG Styler featuring advanced garment care technology and a mirror-front finish that both reflects and enhances the immediate environment.
A Space for Shared Inspiration
In addition to being a showcase for industry professionals, Design House 2026 provided the perfect setting for a gathering of LG’s Life Genius – a community of people united by a passion for enhancing everyday life through technology, design and shared experiences. While at the residence, Life Genius members had the opportunity to hear from some of Mexico’s leading creative professionals and experience firsthand how LG’s human-centric technology can adapt to different lifestyles and needs.
Rather than presenting products and appliances as isolated objects, the exhibition treated them as integral parts of a unified whole – expressing a vision for the home where design and technology come together. Featuring LG’s latest solutions, this year’s Design House demonstrated how innovation can adapt to and enrich the diverse ways we inhabit our living spaces.
