In the automotive industry, developing innovative technology is only part of the challenge. Just as important is the ability to bring it to market efficiently and at scale.

At LG Electronics (LG), we have established a strong record of providing end-to-end support to global mobility-sector companies. Recently, we were recognized by Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan North America) for our contributions as an automotive technology and manufacturing partner.

During the 2026 Nissan Annual Supplier Appreciation Event, held in Nashville, Tennessee, on September 23, we were named a finalist for the Monozukuri Spirit Performance Award. We were also the recipient of a Monozukuri Spirit Certificate in the Regional Monozukuri category, as selected by Nissan North America.

What Exactly Is “Monozukuri”?

The Japanese term Monozukuri literally translates to “making things,” but for Nissan, the term refers to far more than just the manufacturing of physical products.

Deeply ingrained in the company’s management philosophy, Monozukuri describes an end-to-end approach to manufacturing excellence, covering design, development and production as well as the prioritization of operational and cost efficiency, product quality and customer value.

The Monozukuri Spirit Certificate recognizes suppliers that put these principles into practice. With our strength in manufacturing and collaborative, client-centric approach, we have continued to strengthen our working relationship with Nissan North America.

Turning Global Coordination Into Local Execution

Leveraging its global manufacturing network, LG worked closely with Nissan North America to support localized production and ensure alignment across key manufacturing activities. Close coordination among global and regional teams enabled LG to respond flexibly to evolving program requirements while maintaining its focus on quality and dependable execution. It demonstrated LG’s manufacturing expertise and its ability to adapt global capabilities to the needs of individual markets.

An Enduring Collaboration

The Monozukuri Spirit Certificate we received from Nissan North America is not the first accolade we have collected during our longstanding partnership with Nissan. Just one year earlier, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. in Japan honored LG with an award for its contributions to the advancement of in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) technologies, including the development of a high-performance in-vehicle computing platform and the successful mass production of Nissan IVI systems across multiple regions.

Taken together, these recognitions highlight the two sides of automotive innovation: the ability to develop the technology and the operational capabilities to deliver it reliably and at scale.

By building our expertise across IVI, displays and telematics, and enhancing our development and manufacturing assets and competencies, we will continue to provide our automaker partners with reliable, high-quality solutions.

Bringing Innovation to the Road

In the fast-moving mobility sector, the process of turning new technologies into production-ready solutions requires close integration between development and manufacturing.

LG’s latest recognition from Nissan reflects the company’s efforts to support Nissan North America manufacturing execution and manufacturing excellence. It also points to the robust combination of expertise and execution that allows us to support global automakers in bringing new mobility experiences to market.
