How LG Technology Enriched K-Food and K-Fashion Experiences in Hong Kong

How LG Technology Enriched K-Food and K-Fashion Experiences in Hong Kong

This September, LG Electronics (LG) brought its kitchen and garment-care technologies to Hong Kong through two cultural collaborations. At the Mid-Autumn K-Festival Week and CENTRESTAGE 2026, visitors experienced how LG home appliances can complement Korean food, fashion and everyday living.

Through these experiences, LG showed how home appliances can support everyday activities such as food preparation, ingredient storage and garment care, while connecting technology with Korean lifestyle and culture.

Bringing K-Lifestyle Into the Home

To offer visitors a more immersive K-Lifestyle experience, LG took part in the Mid-Autumn K-Festival Week, co-presented by the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (KoCham HK) and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation at Central Market.

Instead of a traditional product display, LG hosted a dedicated “Housewarming by LG” zone, which welcomed visitors into a modern Korean home environment. The interactive layout featured a range of products – including the LG InstaView™ refrigerator and the LG Styler – allowing visitors to experience firsthand how LG appliances can support everyday cooking, food storage and garment care.

Supporting K-Food Preparation Through Ingredient Care

To explore the role of technology in ingredient care and everyday cooking, the housewarming event also featured a live cooking demonstration by acclaimed Korean chef Park Joon-woo, who prepared contemporary Korean dishes including Hanwoo beef with a galbijjim sauce and grilled Korean pork belly.

Using our 349L LG InstaView Bottom Freezer Refrigerator and the new 32L Multifunctional Microwave Steam Oven, Chef Park shared his approach to preparing Korean cuisine while highlighting the importance of careful ingredient storage and temperature control.

During the demonstration, LG highlighted the LG InstaView refrigerator’s signature Knock Twice feature, which illuminates the interior with a simple knock on the glass panel. Users can then see inside without opening the door, which can help reduce unnecessary door openings and cold-air loss.

Chef Park also shared his culinary philosophy, emphasizing that careful organization and storage are as important as the quality of ingredients. He added that consistent temperature control is particularly important when handling premium ingredients such as Hanwoo beef and Handon pork. Supporting ingredient care, the LG InstaView refrigerator features LinearCooling™ and DoorCooling+™ technologies, which help minimize temperature fluctuations and circulate cool air evenly to maintain freshness and flavor.

Supporting K-Fashion Through Garment Care

Beyond the kitchen, LG also explored the K-Lifestyle through the lens of fashion at CENTRESTAGE 2026, held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in collaboration with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).

LG partnered with Korean fashion designer Antonio Shin to show how technology can support the care of delicate garments. Featuring premium rayon and natural fibers, Shin’s latest collection called for careful handling to preserve the texture, drape and silhouette intended by the designer.
