What People Are Saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good budget 4K monitor Good stable flicker free 4K @ 60Hrz through HDMI and Display ports. I like this monitor and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a 4K monitor. I use it for Video and Photo works and generally happy with it. Comes with a good stand. Only down sides are ... …sleep mode sometimes doesn't display the picture when the PC is woken. …soft touch controls are fiddly, I returned an IIyama 4K monitor for the same reason, but this is little better. Could've been better if couple of USB3 port were on it. No DVI port Its not a premium looking, a little less stylish, but I dont care.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good 4K with horrible ergonomics Fantastic monitor with very bad OSD/menu system. Display is not able to show DOS boot information (HP Z840 worstation, mini DP connection). After DOS boot jump right in high res without problems. But everything running on screen during boot is not possible to display. Almost every attempt to enter menu and change something ends with display off as the logic of the OSD is horrible. OSD is not possible to even show the exact model number of the screen. Win7 + Titan is unable to put the display in sleep mode.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent quality screen I deliberated over which 4K screen to purchase for use with my Mac Pro (Late 2013). I was encouraged by LG's support specifically for the Mac Pro which is noticeably absent from other manufacturer's displays. Apple introduced improvements with OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 that means that the full native resolution (and scaled resolutions) achieve 60Hz out of the box. Ignore any reviews (and even at the time of writing the LG website itself). You're no longer restricted to 50Hz, that's old news! The true 4K width isn't essential for me, but is very nice. I came from a 30 inch display and the height of this screen matches my old 30" so I feel I've gained extra horizontal space and kept the same height. Any comparisons with my old display end there, however, as the depth of colour offered by the LG and the clarity of text on screen is amazing (I'm running at one of OS X's scaled resolutions). Overall I'm really happy with my purchase and would happily recommend the LG 31MU97 to anyone with a "trash can" Mac Pro looking to go 4K.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Buggy firmware but lovely picture. I use this for testing 4K signage. It does the trick, it does portrait and it has 2 HDMI inputs and 2 DP (one mini). However, changing inputs is PAINFUL, if you never change input, well and good, but that nubbin thing is the worst idea yet. It also has an interesting feature. Boot connected to DP when the monitor is on HDMI and... no signal. Unplug the cable, plug it back in and it works. (Aside, LG won't let you register as owning one of these! Their search won't find it either. A real dark horse.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from superb image quality and colour I deliberated long and hard regarding this monitor, the Apple thunderbolt is not keeping up and I was looking for a screen for a New MacPro. My initial concerns were primarily the scaling of Apps and fonts and the true 4K screen ratios as I would need to run the screen in HDPi mode for many general tasks such as Word and Indesign etc. The product worked out of the box only caveat was that I had to change the input from the HDMI it was on. I used cables supplied, first reaction... WOW great monitor. No real apparent light bleed, screen calibration showed only +/-1% deviation over the panel. I shouldn't have worried, this is a perfect partner for the MacPro, Get a copy of EasyRes from the app store and change resolution as you need. If this panel was thunderbolt enabled it would be a best buy even at this price. Real estate is as big as (I) could possibly need. Can't seem to run powered items from the powered USB3 outputs direct from the screen but I need to do some more checking rearding this. So to sum up; great monitor which looks like it was a great purchase and a workhorse for what I require. Glad I didn't go for a wide QUHD screens. Excellent!
