Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great general purpose monitor Bought for work. Used for computer aided design, photography, general office work like accounting and word processing, and a bit of gaming after hours (no point letting a powerful PC go to waste at the end of the working day). This monitor copes with all of it. Gaming is fine - it's no 144Hz g-Sync monster, but for a bit of fun it's more than up to the job. The IPS panel means it can be used all day without any eye strain, and there is no flicker. The USB hub (with fast charge port) is brilliant. The controls are easy, and it's pretty colour accurate from the factory. The sound from the speakers is fine for almost any need, and the Base has enough adjustability to keep most people happy. I like it a lot. A lot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Screen Quality I'm your typical Knolwedge Worker, using online tools, databases, the full Office Suite. I'd got to the end of the useable life of 2x19 inch screens and decided to go for this ultra wide LG model, based on price, flexibility of connections, higher resolution, and reviews on the internet. Scan delivered the product the day after ordering it on the Saturday. The screen was easy to assemble, checked it for dead pixels, none, leakage, very slight bottom left corner, only noticeable in a blacked out room with a black essentially perfect in normal. I'm using the DisplayPort connection. The clarity of the screen, and the colour out of the box is amazing, losing the border in the middle of the screen is a godsend....not to mention being able to view wider spreadsheets. Overall, fantastic screen, and a pleasure to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So much screen Bought this to replace a 19" monitor that was giving up the ghost in my dual screen set up alongside a 24". Being a photographer I really needed a second screen as my workflow involves having the previews on one screen while I work on the other. This screen is pin sharp, clear and reproduces colours accurately, so much so in fact that I have realised just how bad the colours on my 24" monitor actually are. The software is pretty impressive and can switch colour profiles automatically when entering certain programs. I have it set to switch to photo mode whenever I open Lightroom or Photoshop for example, and it reverts to the default whenever you switch active programs. The USB ports are handy too and I have used it to charge my phone while sat at my desk which is handy. Not tested them as USB ports yet, but that's mainly due to the fact the ports on my PC are easier to reach than the back of the monitor. It is BIG, so make sure you have enough desk space, I had to buy an arm mount for the older monitor as I didn't have enough space on my desk to have them both stood side by side.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow. Just incredible During my research, I found that there were some big decisions to make. Do I stick with Nvidia GTX and go the more expensive Gsync route or change over to AMD Radeon and go with the much cheaper Freesync? Well, I wanted ultrawide. Just because I'm a sucker for a lot of screen real-estate! But why wouldn't you; fill the field of vision and you get a lovely resolution into the mix. Well, Gsync was eventually out. A decent ultrawide Gsync monitor is £100s more than a comparative Freeview. And Freeview is still pretty darn good as eliminating screen tear. The resolution needed to be more than 2160x1080. I hear good things about big ultrawides and that resolution, but I wanted more than my old 1080p. It was a compromise between the low cost but still cool 1080p screen and the near one grand Acer Predator, but keeping the 3440x1440 resolution. And finally, I wanted more desk presence than the 29" ultrawides would offer. And here it is. The LG 34UM88 Ultrawide 34" WQHD IPS Monitor. And what a bonkers screen it is. Beautiful to behold. Everything you imagine a screen like this to be. Dominates your desk, the resolution allows so much to happen on screen, like web browsing and gaming (if only Steam would scale to fit better). Brightness and colour reproduction (to my untrained eyes) is stunning. Paired up with a spanking new Sapphire NITRO+ RX480 8GB and the Freesync does the job beautifully. Seriously, Forza Horizon 3 at 3440x1440 on Ultra settings!! Just wow. If I was to have any cons to this screen and that is that the edges of the monitor do indeed seem rather far away (first world problems, eh). If you have a little more money and want a 34" ultrawide I would seriously consider a curved version. Other than that I can't recommend this screen enough. Just brilliant.
