You can operate basic TV functions using the buttons on the TV itself.
Check which button type your TV has, then use press or press-and-hold actions to power the TV, change menus, adjust volume, and change channels.
Please Note
- Pressing and holding the TV’s button to power off will close all running apps and stop any ongoing recordings.
- This guide was created for multiple models, so button location, images, and available functions may differ from your product.
- For exact usage and settings of third-party devices, please check the manufacturer's customer service or user manual.
Why you may need to use the buttons on the TV
If the remote control is unavailable or not working, some TV functions can still be operated using the buttons on the TV.
Because button shapes and behaviors vary by model, you need to identify your button type first.
1. Find the TV’s built-in button and identify the type
First, locate the physical button(s) on the TV.
Some models use a jog-style button that supports both a short press and a press-and-hold (more than 1 second).
2. Understand the two common button behaviors
Type A: Press straight in with your finger (no left/right movement).
Type B: Press in and also move the button up, down, left, or right.
Try these steps to control the TV using the built-in buttons

Power Off: Press and hold.
Volume Control: Move left or right.
Channel Change: Move up or down.
Step 3. Use the on-screen menu icons (when available)
When the TV is on, press the button once to bring up the menu.
Press or move the button to highlight a menu item.
Press (or press and hold, depending on your model) to select.
