App freezing, crashing, or loading failures are often caused by an unstable internet connection.
Confirm the TV’s network status, then restart your modem/router and reconnect.
If the issue happens only in one app, update or reinstall that app.
Please Note
- Resetting the TV to initial settings deletes all account settings and installed apps.
- Settings menus and names may differ on older models; refer to your product user manual if you cannot find the same options.
- For exact usage and settings of third-party devices (such as routers, modems, smartphones, or specific streaming apps), please check the manufacturer’s customer service or user manual.
Why apps may freeze, crash, or fail to open
Most app loading issues happen when the TV cannot reach the internet reliably.
This can be caused by loose cables, router/modem problems, or a network configuration issue such as DNS or gateway connectivity.
If only one app is affected, the app itself may be outdated, corrupted, or temporarily experiencing a service issue.
1. Unstable or disconnected internet connection
If the TV is not fully connected to the internet, apps may freeze, crash, or fail to load.
This includes weak Wi‑Fi, intermittent service from the router/modem, or a disconnected Ethernet cable.
2. Gateway or DNS connection problem
On the network status screen, the connection is typically shown in stages (TV, gateway, DNS, internet).
If one stage fails, apps may not be able to reach online services even if Wi‑Fi appears connected.
3. Issue limited to a specific app
If only one app freezes or won’t open while other apps work, the issue is likely within that app.
Updating or reinstalling the app often resolves it.
Try these steps to restore app performance
Start by checking the TV’s network status and confirming it is connected to the internet.
If the connection is unstable, restart your modem/router and reconnect the TV.
If only one app is affected, update or reinstall it, and use a full reset only if needed.
Step 1. Check the TV’s network connection and status
Setting: General > Network
Open the TV settings and go to the Network menu.
Confirm the TV is connected (Wi‑Fi or wired) and check the connection status.
If the TV shows it is not connected to the internet, reconnect to your Wi‑Fi network or verify the Ethernet cable is firmly connected.
Step 2. Troubleshoot router/modem issues if the TV cannot reach the internet
Check that router/modem cables are securely connected.
Restart and reset the cable modem and Wi‑Fi router.
After the reset, restart the TV and set up the network connection again.
Step 3. Test with a smartphone hotspot to isolate the cause
Turn on your smartphone hotspot (tethering).
Connect the TV to the hotspot using the TV’s network settings.
If apps work on the hotspot, the TV is working normally and the issue is likely your router or internet service.
If apps still do not work on the hotspot, the TV may require inspection.
Step 4. Update or reinstall the affected app
If the issue occurs only in one app, update the app to the latest version and try again.
If the issue continues, delete the app and reinstall it.
If the problem persists after reinstalling, contact the app provider for support.
Step 5. Reset the TV to initial settings if problems continue
Setting: General > System > Reset to Initial Settings
Use this only after trying the network and app steps.
Open settings, go to the System menu, and select Reset to Initial Settings.
Follow the on-screen prompts and choose Reset All to complete the reset.
After the reset, sign in again and reinstall apps as needed.
FAQ
